Remember when back in PoR a bunch of raid mobs got bugged and were really low hp? What a fun night that was!

As I recall, it didn't work and player shrink had to be used or something like that. All I really remember were warders and elementals the size of the main bank in POK after the first "fix".

The "multiple pet" bug that enabled pet classes to keep summoning additional pets - I think it was either a mage or a necro that had around 30 pets up, in Ocean of Tears - they'd walk up to a cyclops, get hit once, then all the pets would swarm over the mob are wipe it out in seconds. Not technically a "bug", but an "unforeseen mechanic": the faction wars that could develop on certain zones - Shadowhaven was one, think Plane of Valor or Tactics was another, where certain NPC's just didn't like each other (or with the use of charm could be made to attack each other), then the allies of each NPC would engage in a huge bloodbath. This went away as soon as people discovered they could get xp and faction from it

I've still got a screenshot of one of my toons standing underneath a Vah Shir Beastlord's pet - and my head didn't even touch the tiger's belly.

I have some pics of the giant warders in PoK. I should dig them out. Fun times to see huge kitties all over the place.
They should do that again for the 11th anniversary. Just in PoK.

I would not call this a bug but it was sorta. Who wants to make some cheese in Shadowhaven. I remember that vendor room being packed with people all making cheese. cost about 1pp to buy all the componets and sell for like 25pp per stack or something . I think they are still selling some of that cheese still today Dravine

for a few weeks after luclin released, with vendors you could walk backwards while selling something and at the right moment clicking sell resulted in vendor paying for the item but it never left your inventory.

Back when Kunark was fairly new, a level 20'ish mob in Swamp of No Hope would drop a diamond almost every time. Selling those for 190pp to a vendor was huge cash back then for a level 30'ish toon. Also back when /tar didn't have a range. You could stand at the zone in of OS, and start typing /tar Trak, /tar tolapmuj, etc. You could run through the entire list of named to see if anything was up. There was some pet version of that where you could type /petattack Trak and the pet would target the mob. I wasn't a pet class, so I might have that one wrong. Back when falling to your death took less exp than being killed by a mob. If you were losing a fight, it was better to jump off a cliff for less of a penalty. That might have changed before leaving beta. edit: How about vendors recharging items? You could take the rez stick from Vox, as long as it still had at least one charge on it, you could sell it to a vendor and buy it back fully charged.

Actually I think the thing with target is you'd get a different message if the mob wasn't up and if the mob was up but not in range.

I remember the MGB bug, where you hit MGB then another AA. The second would go off and both would refresh, infinite divine rez for clerics, pet heals for mages, etc...

old school: using a vendor to sell charged items like Staff of Forbidden Rites to recharge it by buying it back. new school: When you could sell a container token to a vendor and then buy back an infinite number of said tokens.

The best day ever for SKs was the day the spell "Mental Corruption" was bugged. Instead of giving us 50 or 100 mana a proc, it gave us 100% FM every time it procced. It was wonderful. The only slight downside is that it was back when SKs didn't really have much in the way of decent spells to actually spend the mana on.

There was a bug in the West Karana zone where if you went underwater in the southeast corner and swam like you were going to zone into North Karana, you were moved to the safe point of the zone which was conveniently close to the Qeynos Hills zone. Back when I was really low level (pre-kunark even) I would bind in the southeast corner of West Karana so I could easily get to South Karana or back to Qeynos to sell without having to cross the immense and treacherous zone of West Karana. I'm not sure if they ever fixed the geometry... I think it might just put you about 8 feet away on land now.

How about when they upgraded DirectX (think it was to version eight? ) and everyone was falling through the floor. or The time that for some reason all the Gnomes in Thurgadin were carrying lollypops?!? or The time that someone (must have been inside SoE itself) added a Banker into Najena that converted coins upwards (wasn't a bug perse but definately an exploit that resulted in a lot of bans - wonder what was the internal story behind that one?)

Nah, I spent many days sitting in EJ doing /tar Sev If he wasn't up, nothing would happen. If he was up you'd get "I don't see anybody around here by that name..." meaning, he was up but out of range to target. Also, a fun feature was you coul send tells to zones. For example you could /tell Trakanon (the file zone name of trakanons teeth). You could do that to every zone, if you knew the name. How about dropping in water or lava and /q, when you came back in the game you're at the succor point. Helpful when running up to NToV to check spawns. Just dump off into the drink /q 5 minutes later, you're at zone in. Camping thru the wall in Siren's Grotto to get moved to the succor point.

Didnt know about this, but there was or possibly still is a bug that would allow you to avoid the Simon Says AE's by getting up on the top of those pillars. Could range dps them down!

I remember for a few weeks if you got DT'd by Cazic in Fear you spawned 2 bodies with 2 sets of armor and bags etc. Not that this ever happened to me, because if it did I would have instantly reported it to the proper authorities and NOT looted one of my bodies!

I remember there was a bug after the DX9 engine came out that cause many people to be able to push other people around the zone. There was a guy on Xegony who use to always go afk at his spawn point which was at the 5stone in PoTraq. One day he was afk in PoK and about 30 people pushed him from the PoTranq stone, into the library and onto the lift that goes up to the top.. well about half way up he got stuck in the wall and fell to his death ( Back when you could die in PoK ). It was funny to see him standing naked at his usual afk spot... man I bet that sucked. Edit* not sure if its a bug to "Cherish" but it was sure funny.

Many years ago, after a patch, something happend that set the delays of bows at zero, so that a bow becam a machine gun of death...looked lay a laser beam of arrows coming out of it. Poor mobs never had a chance. It was patched right quickly too.

Another very shortlived bug was when HT lost its recast. Was fun though to hammer a keyboardbutton as fast as possible and see mobs hp just drain away.

necro mana burn (forget what it was called...) ... when blocked buffs came out you could set the recourse to your blocked buff list, which essentially meant you could get healed and immediately burn the ability again and again and again.

favorite bug of all time.. was when south karana was a jail for about 1 whole week.. If Im not mistaken not even GM's or guides could leave the zone when they entered it.. If you died you wouldnt go back to home bind location you would spawn in zones safe loc..... It was hillarious.. My friend zoned out of paw.. went LD.. and died and didnt get to leave zone.. and was still wearing everything so when he went to the location his body was there with everything on it.. he quickly looted everything he coudl hold and logged.. off.. made about a killing (duoped COF/Full Shaman Kuanrk armor/ Box of Abu Kar/ etc... and he had ton of other items... made a killing... gm standing right with him the whole time.. he thought he was going to get in trouble but they told him as long as he dint keep using the bug he could get away with it that one time.. he was envy of us all for about a month..

That worked in PoFire too...anywhere where you could shrink and duck under something...you could get through the wall.

In Neth Lair, there was a wall that you could walk through. On the other side, there was a ledge-like around a black hole. You could attack players (pvp server) running through neth, then pop back into the wall. You could even see out, but they couldn't see in. If they caught you, you dropped into the hole and warped to the safespot, which was close to the nexus zoneline and sneak up on them again.
