Just recently got a copy of Little Big Planet (found a super deal online) and overall I've been impressed! I think the gameplay is really creative and you really get that feeling of being out in a much bigger world.

I'm Professor Hedwocket and these are my Chronicles.

Greetings, Professor Hedwocket here! As a curious and adventuresome professor it's my job to adventure throughout Norrath and gather information that others might find useful. It'll be a long journey so I'm bringing along my trusty notebook and fountain pen as well as an experimental clockwork image capture device that's been said to produce images of uncanny quality.

What would I do without some trusty tunes to keep me company on this long journey? I've made the decision to explore not only the magical lands that are all around us, but the music which serenades our ears. With that said I, Professor Hedwocket will attempt to bring you new music from all across the land, sometimes it'll be new, other times it might not, but after all this is my adventures and I just might like a particular song.

Professor Hedwocket's Traveling Music

This week Professor Hedwocket stumbled upon some interesting details on an "Unknown" entity that's roaming the lands of Tunaria. Professor Hedwocket was able to piece together a brief profile on this "Unknown" so check it out and see what you think the "Unknown" is...

Name: The Unknown

Location: the darkest night, the shadows of your dreams

Description: of who they are and what the(y) do: he roams the nightmares of your dreams, feeding on fears and terrors of those who dread the shadows of the night

Fun Facts: no one has seen his face. He roams freely on the boards of Tunaria and in the dreams of its inhabitants. His whispers speak of horrors and terror to come. No one can hear you scream in your sleep.

Quotable Quotes: Feeling lucky tonight? The shadows hold the essence of evil that is the Unknown. Darkness cannot be conquered by the light. The shadows will prevail and all that is light will be consumed by the night.

Until next time,

Safe Travels!

Enchanter Levels 51-60

Professor Hedwocket has gathered some information to help those adventurers who are starting out as a new Enchanter. Check out what advice we've uncovered for those Enchanters Level 51-60. Special thanks to Yorkiedruid for the advice!

At this point, you have to decide if you want to go animator with a nice tanking pet (noncharmed) and a nice buff for that pet, or go be a spellbinder with the ability to charm more mobs for a lot longer time frame than any other class or MC.

Enchanters are still great at providing power on raids and in groups. With the Grand Animator, many enchanters are able to successfuly tank certain mobs that normally would need more people to successfully destroy.

The pod ability spell is one of the 'must have' spells. You should also find and use the various mob-drop spells that can be found for lvl 51, 54 and lvl 57. Also be certain to run over to the tower in Darvor Manor and pick up your lvl 60 spells.

At this point, you can buy the cm line for not only a longer charm spell (for animators) which will let you charm higher level mobs, but also the cm line to get various forms for your group which will give added stats and resists to them.

Charging rhinos are a favorite for roaming around Odus, but be careful trying to get to one in the Hunt, since the various entities there are fast and furiously protect their territories. Lava centipedes and various flame/lava creatures in Lavastorm and Solusek Eye are greatly in demand.

Enchanter Levels 41-50

Professor Hedwocket has gathered some information to help those adventurers who are starting out as a new Enchanter. Check out what advice we've uncovered for those Enchanters Level 41-50. Special thanks to Yorkiedruid for the advice!

Always do all the ability quests: the other ones are optional. Make certain that you farm or buy the lvl 46 spells now that there is a drop spell available. Do your epics: most people go for the group power path as that is an important part of being an enchanter.

It's still too early to decide if you want to pick out an MC: animator or spellbinder. Experiment with higher end pets, look for caster types now to give you more support vs just the standard melee ones.

Find a bunch of buddies/guildies to run consistently with rather than spending alot of time waiting in the LFG section. Spend time farming light blue mobs to dark blue mobs for items and experience while waiting for a group to show up. There is alot more to the game than spending time afk in freeport.

Use your invis spells to roam around Tunaria and pop up to Odus to check out new areas and new mobs to charm. It will be alot easier to solo now if you get a good pet than at the lower levels. Have fun!

Name: Jilop Brown Brown

City: Salisearaneen

Fun Facts : Jilop was raised by Ogres

I am Jilop Brown Brown, I was known to be one of the most fearsome guards in the woods of Salisearaneen.
A few years ago all of that changed but let’s start from the beginning.

I was raised by Ogres. I have no clue to why I was there but my so called parents took good care of me. At the age of 10 the Ogres finally figured out I was not one of them. During these early years in my life I was called Puny DohDoh and all other kids made fun of me, used me in tossing games and sometimes as a foot scraper. One day an Ogre messenger came to our village and told my "parents" he found another village with people just like me to the far North. Unfortunately he was not to sure where, just that it was to the North.

It took another 7 years before I was ready to venture to the North. I travelled far, far to the North. It took me about a year to find a person who knew about the village and we became friends. He too was an orphan and his name is Sylvan and he is still together with me to this day. When we finally arrived to the village the people summoned for a meeting. Since I could not speak their language and they had no clue who I was, I was treated with suspicion. I tried to tell them I was raised by Ogres but they thought I said my name was Jilop

I tried to explain to them that I was looking for my real parents but they thought I referred to myself as  brown brown. And so my Brownie name became Jilop Brown Brown. It was not until a few months later they finally figured out who I was.

Apparently my real parents were part of the town elders and they left the Village a couple of months before I was born to find the true heir to the legendary Heartwood Wand.
The brownies had kept this Item hidden from the big humanoids for years. All was fine, until one day a thief stole it from its place and one of its many secrets were revealed. The secret behind it is that even if someone steals it from our village a new one will replace it on it’s own within a day. But the real power of the Heartwood wand will only be revealed if the true heir comes forth and it is handed over freely by our town elders. When someone steals the wand the true powers remain hidden. No one knows what happened to my parents, no words have come from them in 48 years. They are most likely still alive since their magical flowers are still alive and it will perish if they die. Perhaps they are being held hostage by big humanoids or just trapped in between this world and a portal to another place.

I am now a guardian of the Heartwood wand. I wander around, protecting us to the be of my abilities. Life was good for many, many years with little to-no outsiders visiting our town. With the help of the wand I could protect us well and most beings fled when they saw me or was laid to rest.  My name was feared. It was even used as to scare kids when they where not behaving.
“Dont do that! Or Jilop might come and take you was wildly spread across the northern parts of Tunaria.” But all of that changed.

The last couple of years have been a huge pain. It seems like the rumor about our wand has spread and people come from far distances to seek me out to try to slay me so that they can steal the wand. Sometimes I hide it in a secret place but more often I use it to try and protect the village. This was not a gigantic problem until something happened…

First it was a lot of weird people coming in great masses and I slayed more then a few of them but in the last 4 years something changed. People started to grow stronger and stronger leaving me with no protection. I try to avoid being seen but its not easy while I have to protect the Village at the same time. I was summoned for another meeting and the town elders came up with new tactics.
The tactics we use works pretty good, because mostly people hit me a few times and I play dead and leave the wand on the ground for them to take. They are usually satisfied and leave our little village alone.

Every year we send 1 or 2 from our village to try and get in contact with my parents. We use powerful spells to try and contact them but so far without any luck whatsoever.  Sylvan also travels great distances sometimes to try and pickup any rumor about them. Now it seems like a new entity has entered our realm, the elders whisper about a great fear, invasion from something named Khalimet. This has led us to believe that maybe my parents and the true heir are being held capture by this new fear.

I just hope they don’t come to my town and know about the secret behind the Heartwood wand. Its hidden powers are great and if it comes in the wrong hands and the powers are being activated we all are in grave danger.

What I would like most of all is to be left alone. I don’t like eating dirt and grass every single day. Also getting hit every day takes its toll. Since my head had been pounded quite frequently over the last 4 years I still have very bad headaches. I only wish I could grow stronger but it seems that I cannot learn anymore and the elder’s magic cannot help me any further at this point. However a Brownie advocate found a very old book with an inscription that hopefully will render in a new magic item that will protect us even better.

As for now I will continue to protect our borders and just hope that one day I will be strong enough to fight back and have people fear me like I did along time ago.

Play Professor Hedwocket's traveling music on your own magical clockwork music player!
Professor Hedwocket's Traveling Music

This week Professor Hedwocket visits some key places nestled within Urglunt’s Wall. These places might be scary, heck they might even claim this poor gnome’s life, but dang it I will make sure

Central Cyclops House:
After the merchants left, Urglunt and the rest of the Cyclopes built houses near the gate. These houses are for the Cyclopes to rest in and cook their food, as they are not a totally barbaric race. The elders pass on their wisdom to the younger Cyclopes, telling them the stories of the little dwarf who braved the wall.

South Cyclops House:
This is Urglunt’s personal house where he and Ungla, he new wife, spend their days watching the wall and scaring off the few men who try to sneak past the wall. Urglunt shares his living space with the other Cyclopes, allowing them to bask by the huge firepit and eat the grub that Ungla cooks up.

Blacktoe Ogre Shrine:
This is an ancient shrine that now lies in a disarray of ruins. Once, the mighty ogres used this as a sacrificial shrine. They would chain giants, Cyclopes, drakes or any other large being to the huge stakes in the ground and then proceed to slowly drain their blood into the ground as an offering to their gods. For miles the low, loud cries of those chained to the stakes, could be heard. Many travelers still claim that the place is still haunted by the ghosts of those slain.

It is currently occupied by a small faction of Ogres that dwell on the past. They perform blood rituals and worship gods that have been long dead.

Until next time,

Safe Travels!
Professor Hedwocket

Enchanter Levels 21-30

Professor Hedwocket has gathered some information to help those adventurers who are starting out as a new Enchanter. Check out what advice we've uncovered for those Enchanters Level 21-30. Special thanks to Yorkiedruid for the advice!

1. Make certain that you do all the ability quests anyway. If you want to do the other ones to get gear, go for it. But every ability quest should be done as an automatic.

2. Get pet upgrades when you can. Get charm upgrades when you can. Experiment with different charmed pets: try and get casters or nukers or ones that do more than melee.

3. If you use a charmed pet: you need to charm it, leave group then reenter the group in order to be able to use the pet stance commands properly. I don't know why that is, but it is.

4. Your main objective is to power the casters, tank and healer. Enchanter nukes are not as strong (in my experience) and the pets are not as good as the necro or mage pets. But your power can make a big difference in group situations.

Easiest way to level: use pickclaws and then weak herbs/roots. Easiest way there is to get a friend to help you farm things. Or get into a power level group as a power giver if you can.

Enchanters power groups and charm things. The enchanter pets are really not that great in my opinion (though Grand Animation is nice if you go that MC later), so you have to work on your high points.

Name: Deputy Fumbly

Location: Bobble by the Water

Description of who they are and what the do: Deputy Fumble is one of the protectors of the town of Bobble by the Water. He used to be a really tough martinet, harrassing any evil minded person who approached the outskirts of town, but in his old age he calmed down a bit and merely keeps an eye on things now. But he is ready to knock in some heads if needed with his trusty pie pan sidearm.

Fun Facts: He likes to play tricks on unsuspecting travelers at the coaches. His favorite is the one where he loosens the girth straps of evil necromancers then looks away innocently when they end up riding underneath the horse. Or giving directions to the green mambas  that have you ending up being chased by Cracktooth Matrons who don't like your attitude and run you off with a rolling pin.

Quotable Quotes: "I'll do the thinn'ing around here..." "I could have sworn I just checked that cinch, sorry about that mister..." "I can't believe I ate the whole...thing" "Now, you head just up them there hills and I bet yoall will find what you been looking fer"

Professor Hedwocket's Traveling Music

In this week’s Chronicle’s of Professor Hedwocket, the Professor stops in at a place known as Urglunt’s Wall. Be sure to read up on this adventure to get some exciting insight to one of the mysterious lands within Tunaria.

Urglunt’s Wall:
For years the eager merchants of Forkwatch made their way into the mountains of Rathe. There, they would barter with the nomadic tribes and bring back exotic furs, rare artifacts and even raw gold. This gave the inhabitants of Forkwatch a fresh start every year after the harsh winter turned into spring.

But this stopped one year, as a huge wall was blocking their way into the mountains. Their scouts returned with bad news, the wall was being guarded by fearsome looking Cyclopes. The furious merchants returned to Forkwatch and demanded that the Cyclopes be slain and the wall torn down. The commander of the Forkwatch battalion was unable to offer any help, since he was dealing with the constant threat of gnoll and troll forces.

The merchants then thought of bargaining with the Cyclopes, since they wanted to make some profit… it would be better than none at all.  The caravan headed back to the wall, with what they though would be a simple plan. But soon they found out it was more difficult than they thought, as the whole caravan sat still, muttering to themselves as all were afraid to approach the fearsome Cyclopes.

It was then that Dohin, a stout looking dwarf, offered his assistance. He would parlay with the Cyclopes for an outrageous amount of Tunar. At first the merchants were appaled by this offer, but then realized that this was their only opportunity for any profits at all.  So the merchants agreed and gathered up Dohin’s payment.

Dohin immediately stomped off after the wall, adjusting his belt and puffing his chest. As he approached the massive gate, the Cyclopes atop the wall hefted huge boulders upon their shoulders, readying them to toss at the tiny fellow. The boulders did not fly though, and when Dohin reached the gates, he leaned forward and slammed three times on the gate. The doors swung inward and before Dohin stood a Cyclops of size and musculature that no other Cyclops of the mountains could ever match. Dohin and the Cyclops, whose name turned out to be Urglunt, spoke briefly and soon Dohin returned.

The merchants gathered around the dwarf and bombarded him with questions. Dohin answered that the wall was built upon the decree of Rallos Zek, the god and creator of the Cyclops, and that he bayed that no men from the north shall ever enter these mountains again… tribute or no, for this was a spiritual endeavor and not one of profit. The merchants spat in disgust and turned their caravan back, never to return until the wall had been conquered.

Until next time,

Safe Travels!
Professor Hedwocket
