I just don't understand how everyone is FS from the start. That doesn't make any sense. You didn't see everyone in the movies have Force sensitive powers..
Is the XP harder and longer to get or something?

Not really as far as you can tell from how tight-lipped the devs across there are being. Think along the class-based system of WoW, CoV etc etc - you pick your profession, and you are locked into it for that character - no more multi-prof characters, no more switching and regrinding professions - if you start as a Jedi, you stay as a Jedi, and I assume just learn new skills as you go along.
I would also assume that XP is actually easier to get... right now, there is a multitude of different XP types you can get that affect a wide range of specs - from what I read, they are condensing this to only 3 XP types. Bearing in mind that everything about the 'NGE' (New Game Enhancements) is driving things to being simpler and easier - then I would imagine that levelling and earning XP will also be a lot easier too.

Yeah, I think it's better off to condense the XP types. When I used to play, they had way too many XP types..

Basicly they are ditching most of the professions and narrowing it down
to 9 based on movie characters. So bye bye to Master Creature
Handler.

Heh, yeah, it's not like anyone used BE clothing right? But anyway, I love the new combat system.. Wewt for being a lv 10 jedi wearing padawan robes killing crap outside mos eisley with a pistol all day. Now if only they could make it so jedi is something you have to work to get again:smileyhappy:
..I want extra respec levels for my FS boxes lol...

Now that it's twitch, I heard the lag can be bad and affect how you do.

well NGE is been released next tuesday, and its probally going to kill most servers, as alot of people are leaving, they got rid of 32 proffesions and replace them with 9, its now a level based game, no longer a freedom of choice with what skills you want.
You can pick jedi at the start of the game which is gonna suck for alot of people.

Well, I just tried out the new NGE and CU, and well, I've always been a
strong advocate for saying "Don't knock it until you've tried.", and
after standing up for SWG numerous times and remaining steadfast with
that phrase; well, now, I'm seriously disappointed. The abilities are
bugged in the sense that they don't fire right when you use them or at
times - at all, and thus you're more often than not just right-clicking
the entire time of the fight. On top of which your enemies will run
around all over the place now to avoid you and get help, which sounds cool
in theory because it would add to the challenge, but all it's really
done is add to the tedium of fighting do to the fact they made movement/camera
control even more mouse dependent on top of the lag you miss your enemy
quite a bit as they run around all over the place, meanwhile they are
free to pelt you with their blasters all they like - and so lag free... of course :smileymad:
Because of this melee combat has for the most part been completely
eliminated, and though with range it is much easier to deal with there
is still that level of annoyance... And really... Jedis abandoning
their lightsabers for blasters?... w... t... f... :smileyindifferent:
Level 80 full groups are struggling to take out lvl 70-80 mobs for
christsake... It's not that it's a complicated CU to use, either, it's
actually pretty self-explanatory and simple, but it's bogged down with
so much tedium in battle that what should be an easy fight becomes a
headache. :smileymad:
I understand that LucasArts pushed for the changes on SOE for them to
make it more like Star Wars: Battlefront, but that CU just doesn't
translate well at all in an MMORPG, especially in SWG it seems. Luckily
there's still plenty of time for them to smooth out the rough edges of
the new CU to make it more smoother, but if they fail to do so within
the week, I foresee far more people leaving SWG than there already have
been. :smileysad:

Well, I just started playing, and I must say the NGE is EXTREMELY
dissapointing, and almost brings a tear to my eye (in fact, when I saw
a character made video showing all the features we players who have
never seen pre-SWG before will be missing, I seriously did cry a
little. Not that I'm **bleep**.)
One bit of good news:
While noone can be sure (hell, this IS SOE after all), I very much
believe that enough people will be cancelling because of this that SOE
will roll the game back to what it used to be.
Just from what I've seen on forum and fan sites alone (on one poll,
about 85% of 5300 people said they hated the changes), I think they
will be losing quite a bit of money. And why would they take everything
unique about this game, and scrap it so people could pay to play
Battlefront? Why not just play Battlefront?
I am extremely frustrated at these idiots.

Well I've been playing NGE since it went live and I have to say.....
It has it's problems but so far it's not bad. Combat is definatly more
involving than the old click and then mash your specials function keys
until the target is dead. NPC's now move around in combat when you
attack them, this adds a nice challenge to ranged but even more so to
melee which can be both frustrating and challenging.
Some profs have problems, Jedi is bugged atm and has no inate armour
(supposidly this is getting fixed in an upcoming hot fix but no sign
yet)
So far I'm liking the NGE more than the original CU and if SOE do all
they are promising then SWG will really be a great game to play.

I just cancelled my account again. I just don't like how the game is
going, plus the game seems dead. Theed and Coronet had like no one
there, maybe a few AFK spammers.
Oh well...

"SWG will really be a great game to play."
Yeah, if you like playing with maybe 400 other people per server.

Sorry to say, it's not much different than MxO right now in that aspect!
