The game went from 700,000 to 100,000 thats still 99,858 more than MxO. SOE keeps this game afloat. For what reason? I dont know.

They were the death of there own project, if they would have put of release another few months maybe a year they could have been golden but no. they released a game that wasnt ready and overhalled major things 2 weeks after launch.

To be honest, the way the economy has been going, I'm surprised that MMOs are doing as well as they are and that more haven't fallen under the axe. :: Crosses fingers::

I'm not really surprised. The same thing is happening in movie theatres. Sales are rising. Why? Escapism. If someone can pay $8 for a 2-hour romp away from their problems and woes I'm sure they'd be happy for that escape for a whole month for $15.

Age of Conan was enjoyable for awhile. It doesn't surprise me that they're failing, though. They really needed another year in beta. Hell, the game is almost a year old now, and it's still missing features that were advertised. The game really did have the potential to knock WoW off the number one spot... Funcom really dropped the ball on this property.

Much as they did back in the Great Depression of the 1930s. That's how MGM was able to make a mint on all those movie musicals...
