"Few Stood Against Many."

Isn't that what Arnold said in the first Conan movie?

From IMDB:
"No one will remember today except that two stood against many. I ask you, Father Crom, grant me victory, grant me revenge. And if you will not grant them to me; then the hell with you!"

Still, a movie to look forward to...

The actual  movie quotes are here.

There is also a small article here.

Spartan King Leonidas: "Before this battle is over, the world will know that few stood against many."

From a directors point of view, i think this is going to be a movie over all movies.

It should be noted for those that wish to know where the material came from

Book: Gates of Fire

Frank Miller Graphic Novel was some what based on the above book and on historical accounts of the time period.

300 based on Frank Miller's Graphic novel.

It should also be noted while the Spartan made a valiant stand that without the Persian Empire conquering their part of the world would not have been introduced to the next stage of civilization development, a type of renaissance if you will.

It definately looks to be a good movie SMILEY

Definitely stoked for this, just as much when hearing about V for Vendetta.

Frank Miller has talent in his toenails. The guy amazes me all the time.

What I've seen of this movie so far looks really good.  Of course you can never tell until your sitting in a seat in the theatre. hehe. After recent 'historical' type movies like Troy I've given up on any sort of accuracy about the time period. But if it's a good story no big deal.

SMILEY

Looking forward to seeing this one.

Well this movie is different director-wise. You can clearly see in the trailer and teaser that the combat scenes are stacked with cool effects and happenings instead of just a whole bunch of people stabbing eachother for 10 minutes. Which is why Troy and all of those movies did not quite make it.

putting my comic reviewer hat on, i'm trying to remember if there were all those crappy hellraiser rejects in the original book but I've loaned my copy of 300 out to someone and its been a while. Anyone know? I don't recall them, to be honest and I'm hoping they haven't just added them in for added LOLs.

I am very excited for this movie, I think it'll be awesome.  That whole time period is fascinating, and I'm very curious to see the comic book-esque taken on the story.  Leonidas, Dienekes, and (later at Salamis) Themistocles FTW!!!

I just got a copy of the graphic novel 300, and am pouring through "Gates of Fire" currently.

Molon Labe!!!
