Thanks for the update, sure it would be better to know on game content issues, however we do get updates from rarebit when possible too.

Yeah but he doesnt talk about future content unless we know about it, nor does he give pictures. This could have been a forum thread and a link to it on the website, not a waste of our OSTLG.

Since when has the Looking Glass been purely for new content? It's just
another way for the devs to communicate information they think is
important, which Walrus has certainly done this week . /twothumbsup

Defintely... But the thing is, if people would quit exploiting, it would have been about content.

The real shame is a whole OSOTLG was wasted on this subject.
Grow up people and let the devs start working on important issues.

People are always going to exploit so I dont think this article is going to stop it. They will always have to fix bugs like Walrus said.
I'm bummed because I really dont care about pretty much anything he said in that article because it doesnt pertain to me, I don't exploit. I can see if you were confused or can't really realize whats an exploit....but it's pretty much common sense. A simple forum post would have done the job in this instant, no need for a weekly article that's usually an insight into whats going on with the development side of things.

This was just an announcement. I thought there would be something about the Hallways or the Org Abilities or the Mission Archieve. Walrus I think the community deserves at least estimated release dates posted on the Other Side or the progress, the forums shouldn't be the source to where this information is located. The exploit post was a pointless looking glass in my opinion, please give the community more "News" not "Announcements".

In response to this, some people on Recurrsion have created a faction called "Freedom to Exploit" lol

If we could be sure that CSRs were not themselves behaving irrationally, this would make much more sense. The best example of irrational behavior would be a certain CSR whose captious, fractious behavior ingame has been so egregious as to:
1. Punish players just standing around people he felt to be exploiting (datamining),
2. Punish people for "exploits" like standing on canopies of buildings,
3. Punish people who had not been engaging in "expoit" behavior but who challenged him.
Please note that this CSR (whose name has become a verb) and these examples have all been discussed in public forums and were not 1984ed or edited. So I hope this isn't.

I believe the problems that occure come when players do not receive a warning before a mute/suspension/banning. Perhaps even the player did not see the CSR chat, but a clear warning must be given to the player before any further disciplinary action is taken.

Thank you for informing us on the process taken with regard to people found using exploits. This seems fair and makes sense after all. However I would have liked to have seen some information on when you want us to submit exploits and when not to. The first step used by anyone to get to the white rooms or the hallways is common knowledge and has been around since beta. Yet no effort to fix this bug has been made. While the subsequent steps may not be very well known at all, surely sealing the first problem would have eliminated the need for the entire paragraph on the white rooms. Indeed it would also have prevented the first person from ever having been teleported into the hallways let alone the white room.
You say "If the exploit makes it possible for one player to have a big
advantage over others, the exploit is considered particularly serious." and yet this bug allows players to have serious advantages over others in combat situations.
I'm not saying I'm upset there are holes, it's going to happen and people are going to use them. What I am irritated by is a declaration of sincerity towards fixing exploits and then actions that don't appear to follow this up.

I guess I wish there was more communication back on the bugs. The way that it used to be done was great, because the Dev and the player could talk some back and forth and that helped to confirm some of the problems. Right now any bug reports just seem to go into the limbo and you never hear anything. I know I have some things that have been out there for months. This includes one that is a double attack exploit.
