I prefer watching the American versions. The sound is sped up and sounds a little off when they bring shows over from America and air them here.
That's weird. You'd think they would be able to bring them over without sound issues... o.O
PAL Video frames fluctuate differently from NTSC ones. (Had to ask Tseng because I forgot XD)
Ah that's right. PAL works in 25fps, if i'm not mistaken, whereas NTSC is 29.97fps. That would cause it to stagger over time.

Man that episode was awesome!!!
SPOILERS MAYBE!!!!! Keamy = Badass for stone cold killing Ben's daughter
Smoke Monster = Double Badass for owning Keamy's troops. I'm interested in learning how exactly Ben can control or call the monster but thats prolly afew episodes away at least. Overall I was fairly impressed. It was kinda funny when everyone kept popping out of the house and getting shot even after Sawyer was screaming to get inside. But yeah a nice return for Lost. I'm pumped. Also what did everyone think about the dead Doctor or Ben making in the desert with a parka on for that matter?

Also, does anyone else think Keamy looks like Ed Robertson from the Barenaked Ladies?
For reference, this is Keamy
And hey, they're both Canadian!

I think I need to rewatch that, there was a fair amount to take in! Good to see how Sayid ends up working with Ben, makes sense. Ben seems to have total control over every situation he ends up in. Alex being killed like that is probably one of the few times where he's not been in control, despite everything he tried. I was pretty suprised they killed her off. The Widmore/Ben thing gets more and more confusing. Changed the rules of the game? Is all of this stuff going on on the island just for show? Ben says he doesn't kill innocent people, well if Widmore is this tyrant that Ben's made him out to be, surely he would have killed him right there and then? I hope not all of the mercenaries are dead, though I'd expect they are. The ruthless streak was pretty cool. Edit: Upon beginning the rewatch I noticed the jacket Bens wearing had the name "Halliwax" on the front left. Which is the name of the scientist in the Dharma videos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bTvAUVPyLI

Wow that was one of the best episodes of Lost in a long time, and what a way to start the 2nd half of the season! Ben still knows so much more than has even been hinted at yet. The episode made me seriously think about my stance in thinking that Ben is 'one of the good guys' with the stuff Widmore said. But man, like you said Yasa, gonna have to watch that episode a second time to pick everything up.

Woo-ee, that was crazy. So much going on.
So now we know Ben has some control over Cerberus, or maybe he only has control now that the rules have changed. What are the rules? How are they enforced, why and by whom? We've seen more ancient architecture (built inside Ben's house, bizarrely).
And what about Widmore? Maybe he had a controlling interest in Dharma when it was active, so he sees Ben having taken it away because Ben gassed the Dharma people and let the 'hostiles' take control. Or maybe their war goes back further.
Edit: Oh yeah, and Cerberus in action was awesome.

Just rewatched some bits, and I noticed that Ben comes out of that secret room all grubby. When he goes in his face and shirt are clean, but when he comes out he's all covered in ash (mostly heavy spots of it), like he's been shoveling coal. Goodness knows what he was doing in there... maybe some kind of ritual?
And what does Widmore mean when he says: 'I know who you are, boy. What you are.' He obviously knows who Ben is already, so what he meant by that must have had some greater significance.

Yeah. I'm wondering if that room is perhaps Ben's "box" that he spoke of in Season 3.
I was just watching that Widmore and Ben scene a couple of minutes ago. I'm wondering if perhaps Widmore had some kind of controlling stake in Dharma or something because he said "Everything you have you took from me" and "That Island is mine, Benjamin. It always was and it will be again." and the idea that Ben "took it" from him is perhaps because he gassed the Dharma folk. Also, the Claire and Miles dialogue Claire: "But, I'll live", Miles: "I wouldn't be too sure about that", foreboding much? :p *Edit* I don't think it starts for another couple of weeks in the UK, Sphairo. There's a recap starting on Sky One this weekend which I think suggests it'll be a week or two before they start up again.

Far scarier than the Smoke Monster in that episode: Keamy looks and sounds almost exactly like one of my Section mates from my time in the Army. Corporal, weapons specialist. Of course, he's a much nicer guy than this Keamy character :p
