I'm catching up on the story in the mission archives after being away for a while. I've been reading the threads about players taking over the story from here. I've never really participated in the RP world, so I'm kind of a noob in that area. Have players been creating their own stories up to this point and playing them out in events? If so, how do you participate in that? All I ever see on the MxO Player Events page are contests and radio stations. Or is this just about knowing the story so you can write in the RP section of the forums or stay in character in the game and keep it all in context?

Mostly it's a combination of whatever makes you feel comfortable, so long as it's nothing too "out there" or anything that can be considered god-modding. Most create their own stories up to this point and play them out in events, including me. Here lately though, out of extreme laziness, I suppose, I've written in the RP section of the forums and stayed in-character in the game (unless it's a purely OOC conversation or scenario.) For example, I learned a long time ago that when I go to Mara C, RP be damned... so I consider that area a RP no-fly zone.

I've been posting most of my stuff to our faction's forum, but I generally stay IC most of the time that I'm jacked in. We generally run a lot of small in-house storylines, but we mingle with other factions when we get the chance.

Yeah I understand how RP can be hard to find. Here's an easy map. 1. Jack in to anywhere in Westview. 2. Do your ground smash attack. 3. You'll see a time machine in the ground, get in it. 4. Set the time-disruption band to read March 25, 2005. 5. Engage the time thrusters. 6. Buckle your seatbelt Dorothy, because Kansas is going bye bye. 7. RP.

And in regards to the actual thread question. There are some RP'ers about but they are less and far between. Come to Vector and see how long you can stand at a Hardline for talking about 'RP' Hmm you flagged you dead, Don't get me wrong RP is good but... PvP is the last surviving thing of this dwindling game.

Generally what I do to start up RP is post a story across the next ren boards (overall and server specific), as well as any other outlets I can think of (faction boards, ZIC etc) then wait for people to react. Following that I'll hopefully reach some of them online and the events can play out from there. But yeah, it's good to see you back SJ, hit me up sometime (in-game, here on the forums, or over on Rumbaar) and we'll get together ^_^

I Arpeed code bombs and eventually the crafting of a kill code which led to my character's death. So, I guess you could say it exists. Pretty much, just evolve a believable character within the MxO universe, generally one who has his or her beliefs shaped by the surrounding events. And then what do you do? You roll with it in-game, and if you feel like it, write up story posts.

It seems alot of people these days are burned out on RP for various reasons, which then turns off many new RPers who are spurned by the ones burned out on it or can't find anyone to RP with in the first place. Your best bet is to put that you're an RPer somewhere in your background and then hangout by the popular Hardlines and listen in or try to start up a conversation and see where it goes. Good HL's to Try: 1. Tabor Park West 2. Camon Heights Central 3. Tabor Park Central 4. Mara Central 5. Stamos Northwest 6. Sai Kung Central

Some of the former liasons are doing some cool things as well. Even on my server, there's Dreami, and that new Mero woman....
