Was looking at the Utility Master tree and had some questions for anyone that has experience with the character type:
1. Does the Patch Daemon heal itself? 2.
The self buffs look like they are geared towards you being the
tank/melee'r. Seeing as how I won't have enough memory to load
any martial arts abilities, how effective can I be? 3. Just how effective are the daemons?
Thanks.

the patch deamons heal who ever is low on health and as for this tree I personally dont like it i find it hard to use but at the same time ive seen some people kick **bleep** with it in and out of IL i would say if you pick this tree to mix it with hacker

Low levels on the Utility Master tree are good for Missions. They are great backup. One caveat is that Akiodo Simulcra get stuck in interlock and then don't move. Nuker sims aren't as powerful in the lower levels, mid and hi level they ROCK. Sim + healer is an almost unbeatable combo for duels, if done right. Sims can hold their own now against NPCs, pvp they are tougher than before.

UtM is my main load, and has been since a day after the QA server came
up. I can beat most anybody with the right sim/clothes loadout, with a
minor caveat for Duellists and some Kung Fu GMs. And anone who
hyperjumps of course.

You don't find your melee abilities lacking without a martial art
loaded? If I make a UtM, I would raise my melee fighting skills,
but is that enough to hit other people consistently?

Not in the least. I'm specced mainly for MA, high Belief and Focus.
Quite often I can even out-roll other MAs. Because the attacks are
quite IS efficient you can just soak up damage they deal through
resistance clothing, and wait for their IS to run out, before you start
low blow / cheap shot spamming. Self Defense and coder style work
perfectly well enough for me.
