Hey guys I was debating on giving the trial a run through but decided to go ahead and dive in head first.  I played when the game launched unfortunately the game wasnt playable on my pc at the time. I have checked in on the MxO forums the past few years and really admired how much the players really put into the game.  I have played my share of MMO's and the community makes the game...well for me anyways lol. I am ready to give this thing a go and have a blast. I am on EST so from what I have read recursion may be the best choice for me, any input would be greatly appreciated.  Also a crew if anyone is recruiting these days and wouldn't mind showing a new guy the ropes. Well I look forward to seeing you guys in game thanks.

If you're on Recursion, and you're looking for Zion RP, then drop on by The Trust.  We're an active heavy RP faction.  If you decide to go elsewhere, give me a hollar in game if you ever need anything or need to ask a question.  My ingame name is Fenshire.

:: Waves:: Hello there! If you're on Recursion and you're considering working with the Merovingian and enjoying the freedom that he has to offer, I'm Sieges, Matriarch of Familia Grigori, a close-knit family of humans and programs in his domain. We look forward to meeting you.

Thank you for the welcomes, I created my RSI on Recursion name is Virexium.  Seems like I should just grind through the missions to start any advice? Debating on either Mero or Zion but not sure as of yet any pros and cons for each would be helpful. I was told to go kung fu for leveling makes things a lot easier since I will be doing a lot solo because there arent a lot of newer players to group with is this true?

Welcome back to the Matrix, operative.

Kung Fu is definitely a great skill to use when leveling as it offers good buffs and some powerful moves even before you reach level 30.  Have a great time on Recursion.  There are many great players for you to mingle with.

As a machinist, it'd be hard to recommend Zion or Merovingian, but I'd definitely vouch for those above as great places to call home for either organization.

Not entirely, I've seen quite a few lower level people running around these days.

That said, Kung Fu is a good starting point, but you're by no means locked to what you choose.  You can always switch up your abilities at any point.  I'd recommend grinding through the starting missions up until the point where you get the call from the Machines and the Merovingian.  At this point, you start accruing reputation points with the organizations, so you'll want to make a decision then as to who you'll be working with.

Pros and Cons to the organizations...  Well, to be perfectly honest, it depends on you and where you want to take your character.  If you're going the RP route, is your character going for the freedom of humanity or for money and power within the simulation? If you're not into the RP thing, then I'm probably not the best person to speak to about this, but I know there's quite a few active PvPers out there who would probably be more than happy to have some fresh meat.  Heh.

Anyway, I'm in the Trust with ol' Fenny up there, so likewise, if you ever need anything, just look me up.

Not such a binary distinction.  Some of us Merovingians simply like to be freed from Zionite Propaganda and Machine Control and mostly left to pursue our own independent endeavors; speaking for my faction we value knowledge for its own sake, and support self-aware programs who have decided to free themselves from the Source.  Plus, we have Succubi, Dire Lupines, Effy, Beirn, Ookami, Club Hel, and Cake!
