Brett Favre has officially announced that he wants to come back to play.

Although, He has asked Green Bay for an unconditional release from his contract. This is because Green Bay has basically said they don't want Favre. They say that they are getting ready for Aaron Rogers to take over and lead them to the Super Bowl, or at least the play offs.. So Brett Favre is saying: Fine, release me from my contract. Don't trade me. Let me decide where I want to go. This request for a release from his contract doesn't necessarily mean he will not play for Green Bay, though. The Ball is in The Green Bay Packer's Court.

So Brett Favre is back. But where will he land????

Stay tuned, folks!

Edit: Thanks for the correction Rare. >.<

Oh geezus...  that man needs to get a grip. He is destroying his reputation with this crap if you ask me. He coulda gone out as one of the greatest quarterbacks in the game, but now he's gonna end up being remembered as a washed up has been.

well i did think last year despite throwing the game losing INT Farve had one of the best seasons in a while  and i think if he can play as good as he did last year i think the packers may have another good shot if not better shot of geting to the superbowl

Did he learn how not to throw an interception in OT like a choke artist this off season?

I guess Strahan is going to have to sack some sense into this clown again.

If he has a season remotely close to what he did last year with 4,155 yards and 28 TDs in the regular season, I wouldn't jump to the conclusion so quickly that he'll go out as a has been. Should he play 1, maybe 2 seasons absolute tops, I think he's still got the magic. Should be wear out his welcome trying to hang onto a roster at age 42+, then yes, he'll become a parody of himself.

Wow Did the packers insult Favre Today they said he's welcome to be back but as a back up to me that is a huge slap in the face to favre  right now if i was a packers fan id be insulted why would you want a unproven qb in Rogers over one of the greatest qbs in all time i hope the packers to trade him and i hope they win the superbowl to what ever team gets him and shows what a big mistake this was.

Agreed nubious, Favre is one of the few athletes (think Jordan) that has done so much for the sport and the fans, that he should pretty much be able to do what he wants......

And as far as throwing a pick, everyone's done it..look at Romo the year before, look at Eli's season pre playoffs.....I've been a Giants fan since my dad took me to every game of Parcells first season as coach...everyone wins and loses....the greats do it with a passion and style that makes us love the sposrts they play.

Brett Favre played his entire career with passion and class.

He however let the continued stress of Green Bay wondering every year if he still had it like he was under a microscope though and cracked under the pressure he retired when he wasn't ready and you can't help but expect a level of confusion from the team and the new QB

We have a similiar situation going on right now with Brady Quinn he is widely known as one of the leagues best prospects but we still have only let him play one drive last year the entire regular season. It's a respect thing. Derek Anderson had a great season. I think its the same thing with the Packers Favre made his choice. It's up to him now to live with it I always respected the guy but I can't stand how he bailed out after that interception last year it felt cowardly like "I give up we can't do this" and now he wants back..? I don't know that just sits wrong with me.

PS this isn't a Keanu Reeves movie or The Replacements 2 you can't just quit an NFL team and expect back.

You do realize you're talking about one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever live right?

No.. I thought I was talking about the quarter back that lost to the wild card last year than quit because he was tired.

The Packers arn't the end of the road though I heard he may have a bright future with another great .

Ok first off Bret had been playing since 91 he currently  he has started every single game from 92-07 he has every darn right to be tired so give the guy a break id like to see anyone break that chalnge  i dont think we will caushe have of todays qb are so over protected its not even funny. Brett has played through ever single game heck he even played the best game of his carerr when his father died. he had every right to miss that game  but he was a team guy and played. to me the packs have pretty much said screw you Brett. finaly imho the packers would not be as popular or sucssefull as they had been the last 11+ years if it wasnt for favre  so he should be able to do what he darn well pleases to.
