Hey, I found this screeny quite awhile back... and despite my best efforts, haven't been able to reproduce the fogless / colored city background. Anyone know how this is done?

All you have to do is to make the
wr_fogfardist "number" smaller than the
wr_skybox_fogrim_fogdst "number" so that the fog stay behind the skybox.

I'm still not 100% satisfied, but for now, the key is to modify this in your options.cfg file:

 

wr_skybox_fogrim_fogdst = ######

 

and change it to this:

 

wr_skybox_fogrim_fogdst = 0

 

 

This will result in the background city image being visible all the time... the problem is that faraway buildings will still be greyed out, creating a very jarring skyline, especially while hyperjumping. For best effects, plug that into one of the bazman option files, since they draw much farther, lessing the problem.

 For best results, use near the aquaduct.

Mixing this with Bazman opts is great for photos... haven't found a gameplay-friendly variant yet.

 Just keep playing with them.. until you find your unlaggy one..




Just finished the touching and this is my non laggy variant. SMILEY
And all sounds and fx'es appear.

And if you want a faster way to test.. go to your auto_cfgs paste and copy for example the high_high config and play with the original, so you can change the settings without having to jackout. SMILEY

Hey that's my work right there. <3<3<3 Those colored cityscapes shows best during dusk till dawn... they're a bit grayish on daytime.  Usually those Useropts/Options (from the Bazman Sisters) on HIgh settings are meant for just taking screenshots, since it eats up a lot of resources and gives uber lag. Use the lower settings for regular gameplay.
