Ideas for Zion and Merv Special weaponry

It was quite obvious from the thread about using the System FM-1500 for dual pistol animations that there are a lot of people who are not happy with the fact that Machines get their own high damage weapon, so.

What guns do you think Zions and Merovingians should get as a reward?

Also do you think there should be a harder type of event that these rewards should be given out to?

I think there should be, even if it is a simple recolouring of existing weapons and upgrading to FM-1500 standards, taking into account balancing an so forth as mentioned before;

Black FM-1500: Mech
Gold: Merv
Shiny Chrome: Zion

I think someone mentioned a SMG for Mervs and a Rifle for Zion...

I don't see why it can't be done, either. It puzzles me why they haven't had special rewards in the first place. SMILEY There's probably a reason in one of the Ask a Dev threads, but I doubt it's a good one.

Merv: Free-fire knives that have the same dmg and reuse timer as the FM1500, but then for the MKT tree
Zion: Free-fire rifle, same dmg and reuse timer as the FM1500
EPN: Perpetual shadowpill, same dmg and reuse timer as the FM1500
Cyph: Neo pill. Able to destroy all in a heartbeat. DMG output 500pts. Reuse timer 1 sec. SMILEY<img src=" width="15" height="15" />

To add to Proc's idea of adding their usefulness if you are a gunner but not leaving you out if your a Hacker.  You dont even have to be given a choice, you could be awarded depending on the tree you are using as you earned it, if it was an action event, if not you will have to be asked then again the most important part of this idea is to give Zion and Mervs a unique gun which I completely agree.

They won't make a rifle or SMG for Zion and Merv because the Level 50 Rifle and SMG both have a 15-15 base damage. The Level 50 pistol, has 14-14.

I support the color change, however chrome will not work because the FM-700 is chrome.

It's not just about damage: the weapon classes vary in damage, re-use timer and accuracy. They're all just as deadly as each other, but in different ways.

I was thinking along the same lines as Proc, a spread of weapon types such as a rifle for Zion, therefore a nice shiny Chrome Rifle.... they don't need to make new ones then, just a recolour of the SMG and Rifle...

Zion: Messan rifle with a blue beam (or use the flit gun and replace the spray with a blue beam)

Oooh, nice idea about the Meson/electical weapon for Zion. Somehow, a gold weapon just doesn't seem all that Matrix-y to me. A silver version of the MP7ish one might work though ('cause of the twins).

 And to ballance things out, why not dual smgs for Cypherites (dark black MACs) and dual pistols for EPN (black fm-1000 type ones, reminiscint of the pistols Neo used)? To my knowledge, no Cypherites have won 1500s yet.

Dual Augmented Redpill specials: Reuse 4, base damage 14-14
Dual FM-1100:                              Reuse 4, base damage 14-14

FM-1100:                             Reuse 4.5, base damage 14-14
Augmented Redpill Special: Reuse 4.5, base damage 14-14
FM-1500:                             Reuse 4.5, base damage 14-14

@Ree: Free-fire knives won't be made. Theoretically speaking if there were, spy abs and spy style would use knives from inventory like gunners use guns. And that would too would mean a major tweak in the spy trees also a major update on collector items (there should be some too!) and weapon drops. Mhm... they should have done that from the beginning. But meh, not gonna happen at this point.



I'd totally support a non-breaking Meson Rifle MKIII (lvl 50 version, blue beam !!!) for Zion. Reuse 4.5, 14-16 base damage (I totally wonder why there aren't weapons where min and max base damage is different anyways. I mean, e.g. shotguns should have a great gap in min and max base damage o_O)
And as for Mervs, there's SMGs left. Golden maybe? Reuse 3.5, 15-16 base damage

I like the Meson rifle idea as well, even if the iconic Zion weaponry it represents was only used in the Real.

I thought about that too but I don't think it works like that.
They only have to change the animation, or replace the gun trail with a knife throwing trail. Both animations are in game. So it's all more of a copy/paste from the FM1500 to a Knife Icon, with knife throwing trail.

I probably make it sound too easy and I guess you're right. But it'd be a nice addition. I just really like to see special org specific items that don't require guns alone. Or even better, each tree has it's own special item and all org's items are different.
4 trees: Hacker - Spy - MA - Guns times 5 org's = 20 special items.
