Is it just me, or is anyone noticing the significant increase in the number of active players in the server over the past couple of months? Here is what I've seen:

- My active buddy list is actually full at peak times... I even have to scroll...
- Seeing a lot of returning players. Most don't post 'welcome me back' threads.
- ML has a large amount of (real) noob low level recruits, and they are not that hard to find.
- PvP is more frequently on a large scale that I have not really seen since the early days of Enumerator
- Seeing a lot more participation in events from players in all orgs

Could the naysayers be wrong?

Errr I don't know man.

It's basically the same as it's been for the past 9 months. Not much to do but fight the Zerg for the 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000th time.

I have to agree the only thing different is maybe the LESIG stuff other than that if anything the games been watered down. I think the only reason people are logging in more is the hope for storyline interaction of some kind which is nice because for once we are actually getting somthing we wanted instead of just another broken promise from Sony.

I guess I should have been more specific:

After the acknowledged decline of the game after the first couple of months of release through the SOE transition... it seems over the past couple of months that number are visibly rebounding. True or not?

I'm not talking about what everyone chooses to do or not do when they are jacked in. Some people rarely PvP and they are always busy in the game.

Ive noticed the exact opposite factions that used to have major numbers can hardly log in anymore to make a presence known. It seems like the only people left are the hardcore matrix freaks. Remember when Appolyon was a good place to raid against mervs? Its basicly dead now noone goes there. Midian still have a small concentration of machines but nothing like before. The only place with a descent amount of players anymore is Mara and many times at peak hours there arnt even 50 people in the area .

I am noticing that CoZ numbers seem to be dwindling as of late. :smileysad:

I've seen new faces for sure but I've also seen a lot of people leave. There seems to be a lot of new Zion and Merv faces which I couldn't care less about.

Well who can blame anyone really? Anyone who is here anymore is doing it out of blind faith not pure enjoyment im fairly sure. The only way to realy get numbers anymore is to compromise your integrity and mass recruit for the sake of gaining a presence and a statistical advantage. I think another problem is Vector gets the shaft with storyline content i know alot of people that are here 100% for the storyline and their faction including myself when we are starting to see an obvious problem with content distribution amoung servers it takes away the hope "even though its a false hope" that things are going to get better when that happens everyone but the die hards are going to leave and were left with what we have now either hardcore pvpers or hardcore matrix fans.

A lot of the older factions have dwindled, sure. But a lot of the new factions have cropped up - they just don't hang out at the old haunts of Midian and Appolyon. I hardly even go to those places looking for a fight because I know they won't be there. I'll find large groups in other areas, or like lately, the Merg will be in Mara.

Im not so sure i see the "new factions" as anything but in again out again players that are simply a subscription statistic. Many of these "new factions" are simply  current bored players changing their name every two weeks because they either cant fit in with an existing faction without being removed or they have just given up on any sort of credibility in a group sense so they change their name to what sounds cool the next week.

Yeah, and midean east is often empty too. ONly mara remains as a sure place for hardcore dying/punting.

However.  I don't think numbers are sharply declining anymore - steady state theory of the universe.
