So, the live event... despite the hiccup of spoilers being released at the start, I was happy with the way things played out. Sure I wasn't one of the ones who managed to score killing blows on the Assassin; yes, I missed the meeting with the Oracle - but I think I got enough event-related action to keep me happy.

And then, we met with the Merovingian... to receive our congratulations for bringing the Assassin down.

This meeting was the usual barrage of area-chat spamming, including such profanity as suggesting the Merovingian likes to partake in a certain homosexual act, as well as general stupidity from a large cross-section of the crowd.

I spoke twice.

I currently Roleplay as someone who follows the Masked. Whether you agree with "Cypherites" roleplaying openly - whether you think that all RPers are "carebears" - I spoke only twice...

First, was to say that the Assassin had finally paid for killing Enmascarado

Secondly was to say that all Exiles would suffer the same fate as Redpills at the hands of the Masked.

Moments later, I was frozen and silenced by an admin - and remained that way for 30minutes, without any explanation.

Naively - I was optimistic - stupidly thinking that as I was the only one who spoke regarding the Masked, and did so in a polite and concise manner that there was actually going to be some LET interaction coming my way once the meeting was finished. As such, I did not want to jackout and reboot, in case I did miss this potential meeting with the LET...

So I waited... and waited... I knew that players who had scored the final blows on the Assassin were being teleported away to receive their reward, so I was patient...

And then, they unfroze and unsilenced me...

Why was I silenced? Was it because I mentioned the Masked at a Mero meeting? The last I checked, I am still - technically- Mero, because there is not yet a Masked organisation available in-game...

Why were people allowed to swear and spam constantly without repurcussion, while I was frozen, silenced, and not allowed to potential continue gently roleplaying during one of the extremely rare LET meetings we have?!

Obviously i'm not happy at what appears to either be an extreme lack of judgement, or major abuse of power by some unknown admin. What do I expect to be done? Nothing... because I know nothing will be done - but that has left a sour taste in my mouth after what was a refreshing weekend in MxO that had reawoken my interest in the game.

If it was a mistake then surely the admins must have some in-game list of people they have frozen or silenced - similair to our ignore buddy lists - and I am sure they receive an on-screen confirmation when those actions are carried out.

At least you got to go to the meeting. For the rest of us, we have to be lucky enough to be on at the right time and as far as taking down the Assassin, we'd have to be in the right place. I was hoping nothing would happen until around 8 or 9pm eastern, but it looks like thats just a pipe dream. And yes, hopefully you were silenced because your masked at a Mero meeting, but it's their fault for allowing you to keep the Mero org. And anyone else trying to mess up the meeting with profanity should have been silenced and permanently banned from all future meetings. People going to a Mero meeting want to hear the Merovingian speak, not the masked or people that want to spam and ruin it for the rest of us. BTW, thanks for allowing zions to spam the hell out of the meeting with flood DEVS. Couldas frozen them you know. Although I don't agree that the masked should be there, at least KingCaw was roleplaying and thus no reason to freeze him.

who knows, maybe in the next event something with the masked will
happen and you will be involved in it like idk maybe as a PLEP (Player
Live Event Person) but who knows

That sounds like an extremely poor move by the Admin who did that. They should have least told you why and allow you to appeal the action. That was a wrong call.

Completely agree Chuui - and if it was explained that I was silenced and frozen due to representing the Masked, then it wouldn't have bothered me - a RP consequence to my RP actions.

I would, however, like to say a possibly mis-targetted thank you to Walrus. As, at the time, I was still hopeful that this was a deliberate precurser to LET interaction, I didn't want to post on the forums about my problem - so I sent him a private message. I would only assume that the only reason I was unfrozen was following him reading my PM.
