Most hospitable, though the purchasing and shipping of a vehicle may prove more expensive.

Maybe if some of us know how much it actually costs round trip.  Jumping  ahead - and say assuming it's in Las Vegas again.

Think about:
$ Price of Tickets
$ Hotel Room
$ Air Fair (most costly usually)
$ Food, booze, drugs & hookers (I mean "Holiday Helpers")

I've been to Vegas about 3 times already and all up and down the strip.  So I know where the cheap, free fun can be.  Lions in MGM, Rollercoster on top of the Statoshpere (rides and also in NY/NY and Circus Circus).  Some advice ... don't go into Circus Circus is you are really drunk and/or stoned.  Remember Fear & Loathing - yeh its alot like that @.@ .  Been to the dinner theatrics of Excalibur, and of course the Star Trek exprerience in the Hilton.  I won $150 on slots at the Hilton last time I was there - woowoo!  And the best dinner is not on the strip, it's at Sam's Town which is a little off the strip.  Best steak dinner for cheap ever!  And there is the Fremont Experience which is a little off the strip as well.  In an older section.  A huge overhead lightshow comes on at night.  Pretty fun!

My estimates for someone who lives in Pacific NW, comes to about $2000 total.  Not something to sneeze at.  That might be a little on the high side, but it's not too far off.  I'd just like to get a more realistic expectation on what it will cost.  Because I do want to go.  But I have to really start throwing some money in my piggybank.  Hope my tax return and that $600 government bonus "stimulus" check comes soon.

And if I can really go ... I do need dates, times, and a spot to start reserving.  Getting plane tickets is the hardest.

I am going to this over BOTCON ... the biggest Transformers convention.  Which is something I have also dreamed of going to.  Wow ... I must like video games.

Well I'm a poor sob balancing bills and whatnot. So the farther ahead of time I know, the better chances are of me going.

Make my flight bookings, hotel bookings etc, and save some spending $ to waste on booze and bail.

Also, I need to make myself that t-shirt

Big ol DOE logo on the back.

"BANNED FOR EXCESSIVE NEGATIVITY" in big red letters across it.

NightTrace - MCDoE on the right breast.

Can you tell I put some thought into this yet? SMILEY

I'll be the one dressed as "Random Bluepill#5" from Club Sphinx.

You know, regular clothing, and a bottle of something alcoholic. SMILEY

I might wear a tengu mask. That's as far as I'll go for costume.

I would like to remind people to keep it civil at the Fan Faire. I have on file various occurrences of threats to hurt people at this meeting. I trust appropriate security will be on-site during the events.

I ask that if something does happen, to not intervene and advise security immediately so they can deal with it. In another online game a bystander tried to stop a conflict between members of two rival clans at a meet and greet, and lost his life in the process. This is very upsetting when people lose their lives due to in-game rivalries.

I do not wish to scare, just making you aware some people take things too seriously. If you are feeling rational, so confrontational, just don't turn up.

When it comes to things like this, people need to take about 50 steps back from the game and realize it's -just a game-.  Don't take your drama to Fan Faire, leave it at home people.  We're too small a community to have this kind of thing come up when we meet there.  I'm going to greet every MxO'er there with a smile and a handshake (might hug Phluff though SMILEY).

The last thing MxO needs to have at Fan Faire is a fistfight.
