Zionists, Trikraft and Trilateral, disgusted with the slow spiral into
insanity that is Zion, not wanting to join the decadent, slothful
Merovingian, sought another avenue. The avenue that brought them,
inevitably, to the Machines. Cornered in International on a
mercenary mission, Trikraft and Trilateral were propositioned by Agent
Gray to protect the power plant, and the people in it. In a bid
of Machine humor (if there is such a thing), Gray named this new arm,
The Mega City Department of Energy. Working as agents of the
system, The Dept. of Energy works autonomously to preserve the Power
Plant and the Truce that keeps every human in the Matrix alive.

I have to say that the MegaCity Dept. of Energy is one of the greatest Machine factions that I've come across. They're a heck of a lot of fun, and they're not all caught up on deleting and flesh surrendering and what have you. I can't think of a better group to uphold the Truce with.
