My machine died.  So with much help I re-installed Windows 2000 (up through SP4), found all the drivers and everything, and am almost back in business.  Here's my problem.

I re-installed MxO and got all the updates.

After logging in and selecting a character, everything is fine until I start entering the world.  Then, when it gets to the "Object Manager" message, it crashes.  Just the game, not the machine.

Anyone have any idea on what might be causing this?

Thanks!

Do you have useropts or options.cfg set up?

I know that if you mess with clientside files, edit useropts to redirect animation tables, or modify autoexec's "netjoin" parameter that this can happen... it sounds as if you have a fresh install that hasn't been messed with, though. Hmm.

Thanks for writing.  Truth be told, I'm too clueless to fiddle with those things.  I asdded a new DirectX, and am not doing a reinstall.  Wish me luck!

How you getting on Sugaree?

I'm guessing it's when you choose a hardline when your crashing (or is it before)? If it is, I know it sounds silly but have you tried choosing a different hardline or even a different district altogether?

Only other thing I can think of at the moment is try running a full system check (load the launcher then press full system check before pressing accept, then press accept, then once it's reloaded wait until you get to the login prompt then press the full system check button again and login) and if it still doesn't work, can you post your dxdiag info?

Also, does the game just sit there or does it completely crash out to the desktop?

Good Luck SMILEY
