That means that you have to get to Lvl 80 as soon as possible. However there is NO CONTENT in SWG, this means that getting to Level 80 is just one long grind! All you can do is kill Bols for a few weeks straight till you reach Master.

When you  do you find that there is no content in the game. Except for becoming Jedi.

These kind of no content posts always amuse me. SMILEY To repeat what I've said on the SWG forums many times:

  • Quests (ok, maybe not too complex or anything, but they are still something to do. Especially if you don't get a walkthrough)

  • "Dungeons" and their quests - Corvette, Necrosis, Avatar...

  • Player event perks - You can host your own events with these, not like spawn waves of enemies or anything, but general events like maybe a concert, a guild/city meeting with fancy decorations, a quiz, a competition like a swoop race, a scavenger hunt, a lottery etc.

  • PvP - Ultimate content of SWG I believe... I'd dare to say the most played at least, after grinding of course...

  • Socializing! Player cities, guilds... Run your own?

  • Roleplaying

  • Other stuff I can't think of atm

Basicly your content is limited to your own imagination and the game's technical limits.

I'm a bit of a hypocrite saying this all as I'm pretty bored with SWG myself, but I know there would be content for me if I could be bothered with going to it. But I'm too lazy I guess. SMILEY

Well you had one negative post out of all of these, not bad that must mean SWG is good.  It is **bleep** good, I have been playing now for 15 months.  I played pre-cu and I am still playing post-cu,  A lot of veteran players moaned about the new combat upgrade and left, they basically didn't bother to give it a chance.  I stuck it out and I can say now that the new combat upgrade is the best thing that has happened to SWG.  It has brought the communities together by encourging grouping.  There are 30+ professions from you to choose from ranging all types of playing (Usually you can get 2 masters and a bit with skill points provided, plus Pilot profession is free and doesn't take any skill points)

I have 3 characters in SWG, my main character is a Jedi on Chilastra which did take me a long time (about 13 months) but then again I didn't push myself until the end which I am glad that I did becuase they changed the conversaion rate for force sensitive points from 30:1 to 3:1 (Big jump)

As other people have said in here you can have houses which are empty shells and you can decorate or use as storage.  I usually decorate them (U should see my large Tatooine House SMILEY.

There are currently 11 planets which includes the new Kashyyyk plus there is another planet coming in novemember in the new expansion Trials Of Obi-Wan which I think is on the same day as the Episode III DVD release (hence the expansion) which will contain the Mustafar planet (Lava place that Anakin and Obi-Wan had there fight on)

The game is impressive and getting even better, some of the professions have been revamped to improve them and many more are underway.

I really do recommend it.

If you do hook up and join the Chilastra server my character's name is Russ Briggs and I have an alt character on there called Aayyla, look me up and I will help you out with anything

I hear you have to pay for the SWG updates, is this true?

You onl;y pay for the sofware invloved if it's an expansion - for example if you get SWG the total experience that is everything up to date (SWG Empire Divided - JTL - Rage Of The Wookies) for $29.95.  Once this new expansion comes out in novemember that will be something like $20.  That is just for the software you don't have to get the expansion (Might as well get total experience as that is everything including the original game)  but Trials of Obi-Wan you don't have to get but it's the fun of expanded the game.  The subscription side of things is exactly the same no matter what you got ($15 a month) you don't pay any extra subscription for the expansions.

As MXO is now a part of the SOE family you can get the station access which is what I am on ($22.95 a month) which allows you to play all SOE games, hence why I am playing SWG, EQ2 and MXO which is worth it when u consider if you want to get SWG and MXO that would cost you $30 a month for the 2 games.

I started SWG when the SOE changeover happened. It's pretty fun,
although my character is only level 2. I haven't done much grinding on
the ground, because I decided to go for pilot. I always had a dream of
seeing an MMO based on the Colony Wars series (for PlayStation), and
lemme tell you, the SWG Jump to Lightspeed expansion is about the
closest thing I've seen to Colony Wars in a long time.

Haven't gotten a Jedi yet, and not really sure that I want to. I might
be content to just fly a TIE fighter during my SWG 'career'. :smileyvery-happy:

Although, a Jedi did storm the Imperial Base I was training at, and
slaughtered about 3543654684681 NPC Stormtroopers. I just stood to the
side and let him pass...lol.

ahhhh I like this stuff. <sarcasm off> Ok some professions can take you up to a week to master. Just really depends on how much you play. The fastest way to level your character is get into a good spin group. The good groups have Jedi to tank for you. I was a Master Bounty hunter and Master Carbineer. I switched my template to Master Bounty Hunter Master Combat Medic. Took me about 3 - 4 days to master Combat Medic and that is only playing a few hours a night. So like I had said before just get into a good group.

To tell you the truth alot of people that left SWG after the combat upgrade lost their "I win button". What that means if they can't kill someone in about 2 -3 hits they got mad and left the game. You had to relearn combat after the CU. We have had large scale PvP that has lasted 6 - 8 hours. There is stuff to do, you just have to look for it. Space can be pretty cool if you know what you are doing and know where to go to grind.

FYI though alot of groups won't take you until you reach a higher level. If you decided to play SWG and join the Scylla server and you go Rebel, look me up, name in game is Eremitic, I'll group with ya and help ya out.

CooliceT I cancelled my SWG account cos of the Combat Upgrade after they messed my character up but SOE got it back to how it was.
I am now back in game and loving all the content on it especially now with the addition of a new planet, imagine having 10 planets to play on not 3 areas of city personally mate I am spending more time on SWG than I am on mXo now.

Okay SWG has mutliple professions you can play from combat to crafters to politicians to doctors to entertainers you can build player cities within your guilds.
There are a multitude of quests for you to do which makes a change from the do assassination mission get xp rinse and repeat.
You also have vehicles and creatures you can use to ride around the planets.
JTL the space part of SWG is awesome have dogfights with your friends or enemies in space and even have parties or combat on multiplayer ships.
Bored of how your character looks on MxO? On galaxies go visit a master image designer and change the look of your character whenever you want.
The possibilities with this game just go on and on lots to tell SMILEY

Quick note to regulus 6 months to jedi would take some hardcore grinding seeing as they have now nerfed the combat xp conversion at the village 30:1 for combat xp **bleep** I was annoyed when I converted the xp.

If you wanna know anymore Ice gimme a shout

Zig

Yeah, don't get me started about the conversation change. I was ALMOST done with my grinding, but they nerfed the xp, so it took me a week longer than it should have (yea, that doesn't sound that bad, but after 6 1/2 months it's a little annoying)

in my guild.  all i do is fly in space, im so bored with the
ground game.  if anyone knows any free mmorpg flying game, lemme
know, least then i could quit paying for swg

I've been playing SWG for two years now (this month is my 2 year anniversary actually) and I still love it. I've recently started playing MXO too as I signed up for the station access bill plan and I may pick up EQ2 aswell for a laugh (plus it won't cost me anymore)

Anyway SWG is great I still love it. I've done a lot of the professions at this stage, but never went jedi. I've done Bounty Hunter, Carbineer, Pistoleer, Combat medic, Dancer, and a few others. I've also played around with the non combat careers and they are fun also. Sometimes I wish for a second character slot so I could have 1 for combat and 1 for crafting.

Space is a blast and once you make master pilot and get to fly one of the multiplayer ships you'll never look back. I still remember the first time I took a full crew up in my YT1300, we had such a blast.

As for content there is loads of content. there are Themeparks (Jabba's Palace, Emperors retreat, Rebel base, Nym's palace to name a few). There are major missions (Death watch bunker, Avator space platform, Corvette again to name but a few. Kasshyyyk has added tonnes of new quests and missions to the game and on every planet there are loads of NPC's that are perfectly happy to send you on quests to further their own goals and all will reward you in some way. Some are factional so can only be done by rebel/imperial and some can be done by all.

Personally I'm looking forward the space capture missions/capitol ships that are on the way they should be really great.

Yea SOE just took SWG and turned it 180 degrees, making a "CU v2.0". It
takes the game and makes it MUCH more easier, bringin the 30 some
proffesions down to 9, making Jedi a normal player class, (effectivly
wiping out force sensitive grinds), took away player bounties and are
pretty much makining it an FPS.  Yes i said it SWG= FPS
