ok people...

i been reaading alot of stuff on the forums here and other site's about it. i never ever thought id say it. but... what is that game like to play...

im tempted to play. becuase i see alot of mxo players going there and now the merge has happend. maybe it might pass the time. when i get bored on mxo i could play a simular game. but i would be a noob at it. so it might be cool. to learn new things.

im still unsure what to decide. when the merge happend i went back to subsribing the old package again. just for mxo the 3 month one. but now if i wana go station access... do i get charged for that. and still get charged for mxo... becuase it just charged me the 3months so if i change they will cost me another 20 a month from now...???

but i also wana know what kinda people play that game and if its any good...

what do u do on it. what kinda features its got. i dont wana play WoW or Guild wars. its not my thing. but SWG is the closest thing to the matrix. just a few more things i hear...

so if people could post whats it like, and how many of u actually play it. that be cool thanks SMILEY

Been playing SWG for close to 2 years now, a few months back we had our combat upgrade which changed the game massively but things are settling down now.

Lots of old timers are bored and negative because its not the same game they started on but then you have to take that with a pinch of salt because what you never knew cant hurt you. It has bugs, sometimes quite a few but the game itself is still very playable and the professions good fun.

There are ALOT of jedi now, it takes a fair bit of dull grinding to get one and seriously wouldnt even recommend it until youve played for a year or so because otherwise youll miss out on the rest of the game. PVP is good on some servers, its often about numbers and specific templates but can be good fun whether casual or hardcore PVP is your thing.

We have proper crafting professions, tailors, armoursmiths, weaponsmiths etc entertainer professions such as dancers and musicians, and obviously a bulk of combat professions.

Space is good but limited, once youve mastered there is only really PVP to keep you flying and on some servers space PVP is rare, there are plans for capital ships and space improvements but no ETA yet.

The latest expansion is due in november and is for high level players.

Id really recommend SWG but go in with eyes wide open, it has its faults but if you can see past them its a very good game.

I started it again....a lot better because I got a respec and I can be
whatever profession I want all I gotta do is grind image designer which
takes 1 day...but I hear jedi takes 6 months minimum.

CooliceT I cancelled my SWG account cos of the Combat Upgrade after
they messed my character up but SOE got it back to how it was.

I am now back in game and loving all the content on it especially now
with the addition of a new planet, imagine having 10 planets to play on
not 3 areas of city personally mate I am spending more time on SWG than
I am on mXo now.

Okay SWG has mutliple professions you can play from combat to crafters
to politicians to doctors to entertainers you can build player cities
within your guilds.

There are a multitude of quests for you to do which makes a change from the do assassination mission get xp rinse and repeat.

You also have vehicles and creatures you can use to ride around the planets.

JTL the space part of SWG is awesome have dogfights with your friends
or enemies in space and even have parties or combat on multiplayer
ships.

Bored of how your character looks on MxO? On galaxies go visit a master
image designer and change the look of your character whenever you want.

The possibilities with this game just go on and on lots to tell SMILEY

Quick note to regulus 6 months to jedi would take some hardcore
grinding seeing as they have now nerfed the combat xp conversion at the
village 30:1 for combat xp **bleep** I was annoyed when I converted the xp.

14.99 so thats $30 for u lot. but its cool. got all 3 games. im looking to go onto the AHAZI server because a few of me faction members gone on there. and they all jedi's so. i wouldnt mind the back up SMILEY

but i been reading alot of good things and some bad. but i think it would be nice to make a change from MXO unitll they add more things to do. and i dont wana grind to 50 again. hell no.

yeah im guna get it just becuase of all the stuff u can do, far more than mxo. but. yeah its star wars, im not a huge fan like iam the matrix. but i think it will be nice to play the 2, and be a new learner on that game SMILEY

Omg SWG is the perfect game for a starwars fan, it was so cool the grinding isnt even that bad

sadly i can over the fact that you have to be a jedi to really be on top of the game..well long story short

it was a badass game, i just stopped after CU.. but i'm sure its better now

All I can say is... wow...

SWG is amazing, full stop.

I have only been playing for a few hours, and i'm still trying to get other how deep the gaming experience really is...

This is the only MMO I have played other than MxO... I started it as a 'filler' game, to keep me occupied during the quieter hours of MxO, but now I can seriously see it becoming my main game, without question...

The only gripe people seem to have is about changes that were made through the combat upgrade, but I wasn't there before that happened so to be honest I couldn't care less...

If MxO had even a sprinkle of the features that SWG has it would be twice as good as it is now...

Player homes, towns, cities, guild halls, vehicles, professions, freakin space travel... and i'm not even that big of a Star Wars fan...

I'll say it again... wow... just wow.

Truely is a great game...so much to do...so much more to explore.....great thing bout this is the factions have a meaning (reb vs imp) You can go destroy player run bases...open your own store...The game is endless.

Been playing on the Ahazi server for about a year now..great funny and friendly community.

SWG is a pile of $*&%

You can not do anything untill you hit the level cap, you HAVE to be Master (If your a crafter or fighter, you need to be a Master of that Profession if you want to suceed).

That means that you have to get to Lvl 80 as soon as possible. However there is NO CONTENT in SWG, this means that getting to Level 80 is just one long grind! All you can do is kill Bols for a few weeks straight till you reach Master.

When you do you find that there is no content in the game. Except for becoming Jedi. So you finally decided to go be Jedi. Thus sevral more months of killing Bols till you unlock Jedi, then more months of killing Bol's till you level it.

Once you become Master Jedi? Oh thats right there is still NO CONTENT! This means that all you can do is PvP. Guess what? PvP and the Galactic civil war is totaly pointless! Be Rebel or Imperial it makes no diffrence. You go kill players of the other faction, there is no reward for it, nothing is achived by it, cept for the fact that your armour is decayed a little more.

Yeah you can attack player placed bases, guess what! Still doesn't chage a freaking thing!

Crafters are just about pointless because everyone else is Jedi and Jedi do not need armour or weapons as they have there own. Maybe if your a Chef you can make money, as Jedi need food but that about it.

The class system is totaly screwed up and it is ALL about fighting an nothing else. Most classes do not have any abilites which can be used outside of combat. And everyone is a Fighter/Healer if you are anything other than that you have no chance in combat, it is totaly unbalanced.

Jump to Lightspeed is just a pile of $%^& too, nothing to do in that at all.

Do not waste your time with SWG, compared to SWG MxO has an amazing amount of content. I am so glad I stoped play SWG and switched to MxO there is so much more to do and it is a lot more fun.
