CNN Article

Everyone's heard his voice, yet few know his face or name.  He's most recently known as the "In a world" voice actor.  As a fledgling voice actor and voiceover artist myself, I'm extremely saddened by his passing.  I was hoping to meet him and shake his hand someday.

Rest in peace, Mr. LaFontaine.  You will be missed.

Wow, that's a blow to the industry...the man was a legend.  No one will ever be able to match his epic vocal work.  RIP

Like I said, you've heard his voice but probably don't know who he is.  He ranks up there with Mel Blanc for me.

They call him "The Don" in the voiceover business. Because he freakin owned it.

Here's his Geico commercial, one of his very rare on-screen performances: http://www.youtube.com/v/ZJMGS7l0wT8&hl=en&fs=1

Here's a cool little short about him I found: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QPM...feature=related

Incredibly sadenned by this news.

Like you, Archduke, I have aspirations of becoming a Voice Actor, so to hear of the passing of one of the most famous and recognised guys in the VA world is terrible.

Now I know who that deep, authoritative voice belongs to... but sadly, that voice has been silenced...
