Did some searching and found this disturbing blog about the future ( or possable future of our game) as we fight our way through 2009. I just hope this doesn't come true.. have a look.

Makes depressing sense.
That said, I'd hope this game has a big enough IP to justifiy selling on (in it's current state) or at least the license for a new game to be made.
All we need is owners who are willing to make an investment.
I'm hesitant to take any of that too seriously, as it starts by saying Rarebit was laid off. Where did they get that from? All signs we've seen are that he quit. That's a pretty significant difference given the subject of the article.
Edit: Eh. I then notice other people have mentioned that in the comments.
I personally believe Rarebit was laid off, but I have nothing to back that up. This guy is presenting it like it's fact, and that's wrong. Although, I have to admit, I have been hearing about Planetside and MxO closing down (even prior to Rarebit announcing his departure) from several unrelated sources, and that has had me worried about the game. When Rarebit made his announcement, it pretty much verified my worries for me. Now I just make peace with the game, enjoy what I have left for the time we have left, and do my best to try to continue promoting the game.
Hmm....I could see this happening, SoE cutting Planetside and MxO out to make room for newer MMOs...
It would be a stupid mistake for SOE to drop us, they should pick on one of the other MMO's like planetside and just replace that with The Agency when it comes out later this year ( which I read could be in June or July) Amazon.com is already takeing pre-orders for the game lol.
Really? Then I don't have to die of old age, right? I can go out in a blaze of glory at Mara C and then -boom!- all goes black, awesomesauce!
SoE won't cut out any games out of sheer bravado. They just want to be able to say "Look at how great we are! We've never shut down a game!"
For Christ's sake, the original Everquest and EQOA are still running, aren't they?
We're a slight incentive on the station pass (which I believe will probably see an increase in price with DC and the Agency) and a buy which puts money straight into SoE's pockets. Since I'm guessing they don't recycle money into the game (who am I kidding? They don't. 9mmfu has little left to test and Dracomet has little left to code with Rarebit gone - ergo very little is going to be added, and very little is going to require dev attention, so they'll probably be working on other SoE projects, so the money is going elsewhere) they make no loss on us, really.
So the bravado will carry us through, unless someone with a level head takes over for the Smed.

LIES .... the room is much smaller.
Blogs are opinions. Opinions are like "you know what". Everybody has one. Personally I don't see SOE dropping this or any other title. They just won't update the less popular games anymore.

9mmfu in his office.
Can we not go to a free to play game?
After all no more updates so why not?
Also if not the advertising campaign could be a last stand?
Fingers crossed
