I know a lot of people are complaining about the "New Approach" because "there are no Live Events". Actually there are, and they are quite a few - all it takes to find out about them is a bit of devotion:

1. The new Scanline event: http://forums.station.sony.com/mxo/..._id=36300027206

2. The Data Retrieval event: http://forums.station.sony.com/mxo/..._id=36300027008

3. The Ishtar II - Novalis II events: http://forums.station.sony.com/mxo/..._id=36300027240

4. The "Eyes Open" of HvCft Lost Sojourn plus the fragmented map events - an "Eyes Open" member recently reappeared on Syntax.

5. The Courier delivery events: http://forums.station.sony.com/mxo/..._id=36300025639 - these are connected with the bluepill recruitement events that those who participated in the deliveries know about.

All these are telling a particular continuing sidestory and most of them are more than just a little fun. There is a big amount of things to do, and LESIG deserves a huge credit for holding them.

So I have to state once again that I can see no reason for all the complaining I constantly see on these boards.

I've got no beef with LESIG, they do a great job considering they are not getting paid to do it.

However most people who join this game due to the 'story' aspect join it because they expect to be part of the ongoing official 'canon' story, that is what their subscription goes towards and what they expected to get. It stopped, and I'm not paying for it anymore.

Yes, LESIG does a fantastic job with the resources available to them, but there is a difference between their events and the story-line events that we had which were conducted by Rarebit. LESIG events are side stories, we have always had those, the events that we miss are the ones directed towards the main story line... which are gone.

Is there any evidence that the Ishtar II thing is LESIG?

And I was under the impression that "Eyes Open" and "Lost Sojourn" were two different things, the latter being a player event.

As much as I hope they will return, even in a sparse fashion, I have to agree with the opinions above. When people are talking LE's they're wanting more official, story progressing, Main character interacting event. Style of thing.

LESIG stories are good, but they don't draw quite as many people as official Rarebit led events.

Good RP is good regardless of the source.  Please don't discount something just because it may not be from lesig.  I would rather things like this be judged on thier own merit.

I wasn't judging them.  The original poster was designating all of these as LESIG events.

People pay their 15 dollars/10 pounds/100 yen/??? roubles a month for the upkeep when playing an MMO. People who play Final Fantasy XI pay monthly for new static content and a storyline that develops through quests. People who play WoW pay for the same thing. The monthly fee to an MMO is for the game's upkeep. In the 4/5 years MxO has been alive, that's exactly what our subscriptions have done.

I'm not saying that people who are disenfranchised with the game's current direction shouldn't leave over it, not at all. Nor am I saying that people shouldn't complain about what they percieve to be an injustice. That's entirely your/their perogative. We all miss Live Events, I'm sure. But when quitting, don't cite that you're money's not going to what it was meant to anymore because it is. Monthly static content that enhances the storyline is a common medium in MMOs. This doesn't mean that MxO is shafting us from our money.

It means we're not different anymore.

I wouldn't mind a static maintainance fee of like $5 or less a month, and no new content.  If its a choice between $15/mo for the New "World of MatrixCraft" Approach...OR.... the price to keep the servers on only for $5 or less a month with no new content, I just assume have the latter.   I'm serious.

Player events are good. But we do pay for this game in all fairness so a bit of official contribution is allowed to be missed by regular players.

So I do see why some people might have words to say.

Your sub, Your choice to log in and play, your choice to log on forums, Your choice to complain or write on these boards.

Anywhoooo! PVP CALLS!!!

Yea, and thats why I'm not paying anymore.

MxO was different which made it better.

Now its the same as everything else and I don't want to pay for something which I could be getting better elsewhere.
