I have noticed that we have tags for Cyph and EPN.  Why cant we also have Merv Mach and Zion

The Cyph and EPN tags are very distinctive on /who but I suppose if we had all 5 on /who it would look horrible.

What does everyone think??

Cyph, is a sub org of the machines,

EPN is a sub org of Zion, thus they have a tag.

Thats the only reason they are there. If Merv came up with another sub org, then it would most likely have a tag, but I dont see that happening at all. Having too many tags in my view would be hard to tell apart, though I donno untill id see it.

And by him saying he doesn't see it happening at all, that would be because Rarebit has said time and time again that it isn't going to happen SMILEY

Well if thats not going to happen why not implement my idea so people can see who everyone is aligned with?

Yeah not a bad idea that for those on /who  who arnt in a faction.

As your be surprised how use to the faction names you get and know who each is alligned with.

Oh, I get it. You haven't got proper org tags turned on. SMILEY Go into the graphical options window and change the value in the box marked something like 'Display organisation' in the bottom-right corner.

The Cyph and EPN tags you see at the moment are technically part of those people's faction tags.

Or type the command ingame
/orgnames

Doesn't fix the /who results, but for those running around it should take care of it.

/orgnames?

As Proc said, the sub org shows up in the faction, I have always thought that is pretty daft as the Liasions arent in factions and when you see a Mech and all the Cyphs are being friendly to them, gets a little confusing.  SMILEY

I have the org names turned on but if you are looking on /who you can only see the people that are EPN and Cyph.  I have no clue who anyone else is aligned with if I just look at that

That's a fair point, as the others have said.

I'd say that should be easy to remedy, if the Devs feel like it. Just add a new string to the entries in the /who result. Cypherites and EPNs would still say 'Machines' and 'Zion' respectively, but we're used to that now.

I wish they could change the org tags rather than the faction tags to achieve the Cyph and EPN distinctions, though. That would have involved messing with the database (e.g. creating a new field to say if they're in a splinter org or a normal one), whereas the current solution only involves changing the faction name. The colours are probably achieved using the usual {c} syntax, which admins can type in faction names but players can't.

Cool!! I have been so confused about who is who but I know after a while I will probably learn but why give those splinter orgs a special tag in /who hehe.
