North America only accounts for 2 million or so of these numbers. China has over 3 million and I suppose the other 3 million are assorted countries across the world.

Now thats alot of money. Imagine 8 million people paying $15.00 a month along with the money they spent to initially purchase the game. Now imagine at $35.00 a punch next week per person buying the expansion.

I would sure love to be a Blizzard dev right now.

Hell, I'd like to be Blizzard's CEO.  My grandchildren wouldn't ever have to work.

$15 x 8 million = $120,000,000/month they're raking in.

If 3/4 of the users buy the basic expansion that an extra $240 mil (since the price I'm seeing for it is $39.99.

I could never get into this game for the life of me. To me It doesn't matter how many people are playing WOW, I prefer MXO over any MMO.

I think Blizzard completely false advertises when it comes to WoW.  Those ciniematics are DAMM cool, i wont deny that, but the actual game looks and feels nothing like that of thoe cinematics. Its all goofy and cartoony, and despite what "critics" say the game is not very violent. Wher as the cinematics are VERY dark VERY violent and VERY cool/realistic looking.

That's EXACTLY what I thought when I first entered the game.

Their money making is not due to people's charity and ignorance worldwide its a direct result of them producing a quality product with good up-keep and support from its company. Something that from many posts by anyone from Walrus to Rarebit is lacking in The Matrix Online.

I suppose 8 million subscribers is what you get when you have a marketing division that is willing to interact with you more than once every three months along with well educated developers who can push out content in contrast to one's that are more interested in playing political juggling games to coax their dwindling subscription number's into blindly hanging on to a dyeing product.

And lets not forget the advantage of actually being able to sell your product at stores.
