This is a thread that crosses with Yasamuu's sign-up thread. Some good suggestions were made in the server-wide meeting last night located in Club Sphinx [Dannah Heights East Hardline] where we discussed the state of Vector and the real way it can be saved. The best way to acquire Dev interaction and genuine Events is to prove that we can remain protagonists -- calm and mature -- in the presence of rival organizations. To build a sort of tension amongst rival Factions and Orgs, I'd like to offer my own two suggestions:
- For RP purposes, fights out in the open (in the streets, on sidewalks) are open declarations of violence that disturb Bluepills. While some Factions and Orgs may not care about this risk, there are those of us who should follow a passive-aggressive approach. Does this mean retreat? No. This means that perhaps judgment on taking it to the rooftops or in-doors would be in order. Obviously, this would apply most to Organizations such as the Machines, Cypherites, and certain Zion.
- We should establish a timezone and timeframe when all of those who've signed up might want to remain somewhat in character during both Area Chat and Team Chat (when applicable). To help promote RP, perhaps even carry out your normal activities as Factions from an in character perspective. Your team can mission grind, clear hideouts, etc. and if you stumble across a rival Org decide whether or not it's best to attack or greet the fellow Redpills.
- Use the /Ignore feature as most stated. Soon, those who do not wish for more than mindless PVP will find themselves very lonely while unable to feed off of feedback to their mockery. Grievers can only affect you when you let them. If they are a nuissance and your interaction is important you can always relocate and omit the disturbance from your memory. You can pick some other time to pwn the idiocy.

In regards to suggestions i think we should host a meeting same time next week and have everyone who has signed up brainstorm for an hour or so.

Well for RP purposes I will Kill On Sight any Machine operatives.
As far as i'm concerned open declarations of violence which may disturb bluepills is part of bringing the battle to the forefront of the masses, even if they are still asleep.
Since when did Zion or Exiles care if bluepills are disturbed? O DEAR ME, I think might have upset them!

To liven up PvP is also an important reason to do this... inside buildings, rooftops, and various districts would make things more interesting.
I agree with all area chat communication being IC. We need to add that any necessary OOC communication be in /tells only.
Also I recommend a specific time range on a certain day of the week to do this in, every week. Say, for a 3-hour period on whatever night.
...special thanks to Systematica for supporting us into the late hours.
I'd like to emphatically second this. Systematica is a fine liaison, I dare say the best Vector has to offer from any org.
Please keep doing what you're doing, and we'll keep working hard on your behalf.
/salute.

Apologise I was unable to attend the meeting at sphinx....
imo one of the major aims has to be consistency within the Vector environment, we must avoid creating a polarisation of the community where rp is constantly challenged by contradictions. To this end we can't really exclude the non-rp'ers but need to redvelop our rp theme to explain their presence. Factions need to be more progressive and selective in what approach they take as well, the use of the faction label as a method to group and identify people of a particylar mindset really needs to take precedence over the need to have a big membership and faction leaders should bite the bullet on this. If one is not aleardy of a stated aim it may be useful for each organisation to form at least one pure-pvp faction and encourage those not interested in rp to move to it (or at least put an alt in it)...in the mech and Zion case if these had the cyph and epn tags we have promoted the activitiy in a manner consistent with the current story to a degree???
