Well that was slightly ensightful lol. He did give out quite a bit of info, but the game is is (i belive) at least 2 years away, which is kinda discouraging, and also means that tons could change in that time period. It really sounds like Cryptic is excited about developing the game tho, it seems like they are really Star Trek fans, and thats gotta count for somthing.

I agree. Having Trekkies make STO is the only way to go. I enjoyed the trailer too, though the characters look a little too cartoony for me. But, that could change before the game comes out.
I am very surpised that you'll get to pick either Starfleet or the Klingon Empire. I hadn't read anything about that, and I'm glad they're doing it like this. Especially adding in the Romulans and Dominion in later expansions.

No one is going to want to play as The Dominion, It makes sense to have them, but honestly, who wants to fight for those guys. Another mystery to me is, how will things work with other empires? Starfleet are the explorers, The rest or more like conqurers.

I also agree with Arch about the look of the characters, a bit too cartoony or perhaps a little simple, although the customisation sounds good... apart from the bit about you being able to put decals on your ship. I can just imagine the Defiant class ships being the boy racer type ships with flaming graphics down the side... don't wanna see that happen! Nacells, Saucer sections yeah (I liked that one that looked almost like a pretzle) but not mad colouring... ugh...

I highly doubt youll be able to put flames or such things on your ship, it will most likely be trekky sort of designs just to have players ships a slightly more unique look, not to make them into hotrods or street racers

Since we are all MXO players, maybe we should create our own Faction.... like Matrix United or MXO Federation.. That's if we can make factions.... what do you all think?

Welp, at least he came out and said it. "I can tell you that one of the lessons we learned at Cryptic, was that World of Warcraft was an amazing game. And one of the amazing features is that it could run on just about anything." Every MMO strives to be like World Of Warcraft in one way or another, sadly. The creative director from the webcast reminds me of Rarebit, lol.
