Somehow in the Cr.2 conversion we lost Download Map clothing in the
translation. Whatever DL map clothing that existed disappeared and was
changed to another buff.
Unfortunatly DL Map clothing is still desperatly needed. I fail to DL
map about 3 out of every 10 times. Thats not a good ratio. Its always
been like that even fully leveled but the DL map clothing would insure
it worked about 95% of the time.
With all the Archive missions we have to run there is nothing I hate
more than failing to generate the map and running around the mission
site wasting time aimlessly.
Just posting this with the hopes we could see those pieces put back in game or reconverted with the old DL map buffs retained.

lol ive never seen any one complain about Download missions map i never even use that ability even though i have it maxed although maybe i should use it more often cause some of those big maps are a pain looking for NPCs then again the NPCs usaully arent even close to being in the right place accourding to the map(atleast for me)

LOL Hit N, Abort, and start the mission over. Keep doing that until you have the map downloaded. Problem solved. :smileywink:

Methinks the pants were supposed to be an improvement to the loaded ability, not a grant. As they removed the dungeon jacket that granted sneak, based on the same criteria I presume they did so with the pants.

I have Mission Map leveled to 10 and rarely ever fail to download it during missions. Ignition has a genuine concern for anyone wanting a boost to their map download.
Aborting and restarting is fine but in some cases its not a true solution. Besides that its annoying to abort if everyone is already jumping/running towards the mission phase.
Mission Started Everyone heads to first phase Mission Aborted Everyone says "*CENSORED*?!"

If you do, I want a copy. But I think they've removed the buff completely. it was a good bug. Never used the ability itself but only clothing, which worked like the sneak jacket. I guess that's why they removed it.

I miss my mish map pants... "Pants of Map Downloading". It was a easy way to get the map if you did'nt have 10 memory to spare. On the plus side this allowed me to free up one inventory space.

Remember when we had that sneak jacket and it allowed us to sneak, Walrus said that clothing should not grant abilities, same applies here.

Doesn't download map require only 5 memory? Hacker style (1 mem) - Execute program (1 mem) - Repair RSI 1.0? (2 mem) - Download map (1 mem). Can't remember before CR2.0, because I've never used the ability lol.

Believe it or not, these good 'ol pants just came to my mind after running a couple of missions. So I had to search for a thread and here it is.
I can actually say that I do miss these now, they used to be a very nice addition. As I assume there are none left, I've got two questions..
Were the pants (dunno if there were actually other clothing items as well?) meant to give you a grant (as mentioned earlier in the post) or was is just a bug, erm.. feature? Second question is obvious.. will we ever see clothing like that again? (Because it's handy!)
