I've known our new liaison officer, Salera, for a long time. We see some things from the same point of view, her and I. She will be meeting with many of you in the days ahead, and wanted you to know about her, to know her background. This is what she gave me to show you... --Persephone

"Many seem surprised when they find out I was once a very highly regarded Zion Operative. I once followed in the same steps and walked in the same shoes as all those misguided Zionist.
"I once worked very closely with Morpheus. I once believed as he believed. I fought along side him, and put my life on the line to free those trapped in their cold pods. I saw the world as it had become, nothing but a burnt out Hell hole. No life, no color, no sun. Only the stench of death and decay.
"I was awakened years ago by the charismatic Morpheus and his superhero crew. They took me from the only world I knew, a world of beauty and possibilities, and threw me into this world of darkness. Sure at first I was grateful then after...after it all sank in, I began to resent them. All of them. But mostly him. Morpheus. What gives him the right to play God?
"Sure my blue pill life I wasn’t a saint by any means, I was as shady as they came, but it was my life! I have always been a loner, some may even say a little untrustworthy, unstable even. Funny how the perspective of someone can change when you grow a brain and start asking questions.
"I will admit, I’ve always been very bent on or dare I say hungry for advancement, and I would do just about anything to get what I want. God gave me great genes, and I **bleep** well know how to work it. I can be very hard to resist. Just ask Neo... Neo. Haven’t thought of him in awhile. That was one handsome man. God knows how many times I tried to get my claws into that one. He had a one track mind though...
"As my resentment grew I began getting wonderful advice from Cypher, he had the right idea. I began to see that this new life of “Awakening” was not for me. I craved to be back in the Matrix as it’s called now. I wanted to feel the sun, taste the red wine, bath in the caviar of life. I wanted power. Power was not something I could get in this new life; I would have to do something about that. And I did. I made the decision that would change all that. Forever.
"How did I gain the trust of the Merovingian? Ahh back to Morpheus and my old former Zion friends. It would seem I have more in common with good old cypher then one would like to admit. It’s quite simple really. I had secret information pertaining to Zion, I won’t go into details. The Merovingian wanted it, so I made a deal. A very wealthy one. Boy did Zion Command blow a gasket when my betrayal was revealed. HA! What did they expect? Morpheus never trusted me; guess he was right all along. The Irony is not lost.
"I have many more secrets, some of which could have deadly consequences should I choose to release that knowledge... No... For now I am content in learning all I can. Which brings me to my teacher and confident Persephone. I was contacted by her shortly after I made my decision to leave Zion and my farce of a life to return to the lap of luxury.
"Persephone is a lot like me, both being trapped in a life that had gone in the direction neither of us would have ever thought. The isolation, yeah that can be unbearable. She showed me what could be achieved through the power of the Merovingian. A man with opportunity for those who were loyal. Well as loyal as he believes them to be anyway. Persephone and I joke often at how easily men can be manipulated.
"I’m sure by now your questioning my motives and why I am working for the great Merovingian organization. Well that is unclear you see, a girl must keep some secrets. My current involvement is to make whatever Persephone wishes to be done, is done. You want to make deals; I am willing to hear you out.
"I am always around though you may not see me. Observation and patience can go along way in this organization. Patience is a Virtue, I forget who said that wisdom but Lady Persephone mutters that all the time. The Queen of patience, and precision, one powerhouse I would not want to cross.
"I’d love to continue on and on but the Frenchman has a task for me to complete. I will leave my thoughts for now. There is much to be done, lots of deals to be made. Before I go I want to leave this...seems fitting for me."
The recording of culture is history;
but our history is more than that.
Not simple dates or statistics,
the full horror and gore still attracts.
It's the history of now, the history of now.
A strange contradiction that makes sense somehow.
It's the history of now, a mystery and shroud.
The past and the future: best fiction allowed.
