Honestly, they need to ditch the whole "cash and prizes" reward system for "winning" an event.
Remember back in the day, when you'd do an event and everyone would work together because they wanted their organization to come out on top? Remember when everyone in the organization was rewarded, ala the Race to Find the One?
Remember all the drama that came up when the Assassin Masks were given out? Wasn't that an indicator that you can't have this type of reward system with our community?
Not only does it cause unneccessary drama, but now organizations don't even work together to win an event. Everyone's too busy scrambling over each other to "win" so they can have the perpetual code cloud coming out of their rear.
Go back to organization-wide rewards. Everyone in that org is happy, stats can be posted to show which org collected the most or killed the most, and people start working together again for a change.
Stop giving this community reasons to be at each others' throats. It's a game.
I am Metalogic and I agree with the Hippie.
I agree with this too. I only have 2 other things to add tho
1) Im one of those people who can rarely make events - mostly due to the times in which they are placed. Alot of events are North America friendly times but far less so for Europe. To the people moaning about not getting special items or whatever - bear this in mind... just be thankful that you can GET TO the event in the first place.
Many of us dont have that opportunity - only rarely at best.

I agree, this thread has turned into posts moaning about how Rarebit decides to hand out rewards in any event. It's been done to death long before the Anniversary. The only really useful contribution on the subject was Proc's idea about making a specialised version of his log editor.
Clean-up on aisle 1....
*Bows. Partly as a gesture of humility, but mostly so he can't see the sparkles.*
Yeah, well, that idea's a no-go I'm afraid. Rarebit told me calculation time isn't the primary reason why he doesn't use 'most damage' as the basis for rewards. *Shrugs.*
Oh, and regarding the concept of rewarding the whole org for winning something: while it's not a bad idea, it shouldn't be described as the way things were back in the day. It happened twice at most.

Eh, I think I'm going to try it without. Before the server lag-up hit on Recursion, I kind of let him sit in "Time's Square" while his health got whittled down--sort of forgetting that he didn't have great regen and it would be hard to get much of it back after jumping away. Then the lag-up came along and froze things up until he got even lower than I'd been thinking I should let him. :P
Anyway, if I'm a little more on the ball on Syntax (and barring a server freeze at just the wrong time...) I should be able to keep him alive a bit longer. I've got a few ideas now as far as general strategy goes; of course, I can't predict exactly what players will do, so who knows! But to me it's more interesting if his health is more on the finite side, so doing damage to him really does contribute to the course of the battle, instead of the thing being just a stalling match until I let enough operatives/debuffs get on him that his regen is finally overcome.
