30th Tournament Anniversary

This week is the third major of the season, and will be the 30th anniversary of tournaments on Recursion. I invite all Martial Artists, from all seasons, to participate in the $i100,000,000 major!

Current Events

Round I saw the new league shape, as Yami showed dominance against the old winners to win the title. Raz was beaten in the final but showed echoes of incredible form.

Round II returned to season 1 normality, as TH picked up his first win of the season. He also beat Aqura 3-0 in the final which he couldn't do in season one.

Round III was massively anticipated with Raz, Yami, and TH in the same tournament, but it was Raz who, beating both, took his first win of the season. The win signalled the coming of a new Grandmaster.

Round IV continued well for Raz but TH in spectacular form defeated Raz 3-0 in the final. It was game on going into the major!

Round V saw Ratbert rise as a promising MA, and it was the new Dragoon Raz who would take the spoils by winning his first major, in what was possibly the biggest tournament in FNT history.

Round VI opened with Pyro getting his much anticipated tournament win of the season beating Raz in a tight fight in the final. He also beat GQ, and TH on the way to his win.

Round VII gave yet another Dragoon a chance to shine as Raelity came out of nowhere to win his first title, beating upcoming Ratbert on the way, who slotted himself in the top three.

Round VIII was what GQ had finally wanted as he beat TH on the turf he had never lost on, and beating Raz and Ratbert he won his first title.

Round IX also had another GQ dominated tournament, but the underdog Mattku won to take his second tournament in his career. This tournament was one of the best ever.

Round X was the second major and Raelity found form again beating Ratbert in the final. Rat looked set to win when he beat a very impressive TH, but it was not enough as once again Rae stole it from him.

Round XI gave a massive shock as new MA Doleo took his first title win, a week after he turned 50! The massive victory shocked the MA world.

Round XII had a tournament where Raz drop out in the first round 3-0 to Philly. GQ and TH dominated and GQ got his win as he beat TH 3-1. After this tournament TH and Raz were the tied leaders.

Round XIII saw yet another final for TH, but Vosiler, new Dragoon 50, beat TH in a controversial final that is still argued today. Vosiler had beat Doleo's record, having turned 50 just 3 days before the tournament!

Going into Round XIV, can TH keep top, and get a tournie win? Will Raz go out first round, or can Vosiler prove the world wrong and win again?

All will be revealed Friday!

I'm not sure how long the FNT League tournament will take, but I think a majority of players will be on Syntax at 10 PM GMT on Friday for the Matrix Online Anniversary party.

Maybe you should think about reschudling your major tourny?

Oh yeah of course, well maybe I will move it to the next week, normally have a little break before a tournament. Watch this space all.

On the main thread it was indicated and I many people showed, that also knew when the tournament was. You had shown no interest in the week, and had you posted, or sent me a tell, I would have let you know.

You know my tournaments, and you know there is a thread where these events are posted SMILEY

Round One

Poochini 1-3 TheHidden01

MikeCool 3-0 Minigun

Idalia 0-3 Vosiler

Poochini opened well, but TH got his win against fellow faction mate. SC lost to Turo in a big win for the SoH representitive. MikeCool casted aside any previous tournament doubts with a 3-0 win over Minigun. Brock gave the FNT viewers the first shock by losing to debutant Gamax in a close 3-2. World Heavyweight Champion, Aqura started exceptionally well by beating Blane 3-0. A massive shock hit the league as Raz lost AGAIN 3-0, this time to JSuarez. JSuarez has been improving and improving and looked deadly tonight. GQ also lost in his second first round to Paint, impressively he too was through. Vosiler continued his winning form from his last tournament win here, with a 3-0 win against Idalia.

Quarter Finals

Aqura 1-3 Turokhan
Vosiler 3-0 Paintballa
MikeCool 1-3 TheHidden01
Gamax 0-3 JSuarez

Aqura lost to Turokhan. Turo showed impressive skill and progressed to the semis. Previous champion Vosiler obliterated Paintballa as he continued his increbible run. MikeCool lost for the third time against TH. The fight was hard, but TH was in yet another semi. JSuarez showed Gamax the ways of FNT when he took any hope of a tournament run by winning 3-0.

Semi Finals

Vosiler 0-3 TheHidden01
Turokhan 1-3 JSuarez

Vosiler finally lost to TH who was gunning for his third final. Vosiler's run ended a 6 win streak that had been exceptional considering he turned 50 not 1 week ago. JSuarez beat fellow machine Turokhan in another good Semi Final. It had been his third in a row, and finally he had reached the final.

So the $i 100,000,000 prize awaited the victor. TH and J had met several times lately in various competitions. TH was in his third final in a row, and had suffered a hard week, with a final loss, and his world title loss. JSuarez had dominated some of the best names in the game on his way, and had shaken Hidden before. The final of the 30th Tournament was here.

Final

TheHidden01 3-2 JSuarez

TH finally got his win that he had so craved. JSuarez hadn't made it easy, with a tight comeback to tie it 2-2. The 2-2 final had gone TH's way and he had won his first major out of 6 tournament victories.

The tournament had it's shocks, but the story reavealed an impressive run by TH and JSuarez, who in their domination, struggled against one another.

After 14 rounds, TH extends his lead to 22pts. The gap gives him a fair chance of winning the league, but there is still 6 rounds to go. JSuarez ties 5th, and continues his slow, but impressive climb up the table. Turokhan put himself in 27th with two good wins, and Vosiler made it into the top 10, in only two impressive tournaments.
