That computer in the last phase was so friggin' annoying. First time I did the mission there were about a dozen or so baddies to fight, so naturally I couldn't tackle them on and get to the computer. Second attempt, only four, and still the compy mocks me. -_-

Interesting twist. I just wish I knew who those people were. :/ Research time.

...The only organization for which I don't have an alt.

And they seem to have the most interesting missions.

Once I'm done with the Machinist, it will be to the grindstone here. Of course, if anyone wanted to give me a mission summary, I'd appreciate that, too...

SPOILERS BELOW

Here's the short version.
- Establish contact with The General
- Recieve data
- Deliver data to scientists/nightmares
- Meet Ookami to gather backup (2 lupines)
- Search area, attacked by 8 Ouroboros security guards. (They were pushovers)

All of the nightmares talk about how crazy the code is and that it reminds them of The Intruders. (Because it is foreign)  The lead scientist makes note that the headers from the data are circa 1999.  Flood does his usual job of hating on you and The General.  Ookami acts aggressive as usual. (It's always that time of the month with her.)

SPOILERS OVER

Only took me about a week to grind all Zion rep on a new alt. Now that I have all three Orgs, I'm gonna see if I can't get Cloudwol(f) to put mission summaries on his website. So expect no more secrets come 10.3! I'm like Scanline, but sexier.. and more productive. *evil grin*

Edit: Oh, I see your spoilers, Zane. XD

Didn't manage to get anywhere near the computer, but I'll send my brother with his AOE hacks to take a look...

I've always had a feeling there's more to the Ouroboros corporation than meets the eye... Seems there was an incident at their building back in the winter, on the Syntax instance, but I'll have to dig around...

No, I managed to get to it the second time, but there was nothing on it. I'm thinking if a guard spots you before you reach it they shut it off. Need someone with Disguise or other stealth move to get to it.

Edit: Ah, yes, thank you, Villemar, that... raises more questions. But at least now I know where to find them.

Okay, after a bit more research, I've come up with the following:

  • Metacortex is a subsidiary of Ouroboros.
  • Wadsworth is a founder of Metacortex.
  • Wadsworth's absent partner has been described as to be similiar to the Merovingian.
  • Carylne reminds me an awful lot like the Merovingian.

I know, it's a stretch, but it's best to get all the theories out now. Other things of note - in the tour guide event on Vector, the Guide made every attempt to avoid answering a certain question, namely, who owned/founded Ouroboros.

Metacortex was founded over thirty years ago. Ouroboros, fifty.

This link provides quite a bit of information on Wadsworth, Metacortex, and Ouroboros, with a few theories that I find myself wondering, "Could it be?"

I still can't find anything on Wadsworth's partner, blegh.

Worth noting that the tour guide actually states that Ouroboros has no affiliation with MetaCoretex.

Also worth nothing is that Malphus comments that Ouroboros does not have to inform the Machines of everything it does. This is similar back to when the Merv was looking for data on Halbron in the Machines networks but was coming up with nothing because they censored the information from themselves.

Quick scouting out of the main building finds that the only floor of any real interest is the 27th. The building type is the second tallest in the City. The only local contact is the Landlord. His missions, while very interesting, do not give any info on Ouroboros, although some of them can get you inside the building's mission areas.

Then there's Binary Boy. He stands just a few yards away from the Ouroboros Monument, and he is pretty crafty at old school coding.

And the highest point you can get to on the building does have a nice view.
