Thanks for starting this thread. I've been playing mxo for over 2 yrs now and I have no idea how to make an avatar or a signature. Maybe someday i'll finally be able to create a avatar and sig worthy of this thread.

You have to have a certain time registered on the forums (which you have), and a minimum number of posts. I think it's 15, or something around that. Then you'll be able to add it by going to 'My Profile' near the top of your screen.
