Its rumoured that they might only be showing the first 6 episodes due to the natural story arch that it has. Episodes 7 and 8 apparently start a new story arch and both have cliffhanger endings so they might be shying away from them. (personally I love cliffhanger endings)

About time! I can't wait for this, I was kinda hoping Heroes might finish to match up when Lost Season 4 started, however it was not to be.

That trailer looked epic though, hopefully it lives up to expectations.

I was a bit disappointed after seeing the Trailer.

Based on the end of Season 3, I had been hoping that the next 3 seasons would take place in the future with flashbacks to what happened on the island after Season Finale 3. So Seasons 4-6 would be slowly connecting the (future depicted in the flash-forwards of Season Finale 3) with (the present time of Season Finale 3) through flashbacks of what happened after the Season 3 Finale. And the whole time, they'd be off the island, working to get back to fix the mess they'd created.

Seasons 1-3 /\ Seasons 4-6

But I guess that was not to be.

It sucks that they only have 8 episodes completed out of the 16 they originally intended, but I'm still glad it's coming back. If I would have had to wait any longer I might have died. Maybe once the writers strike is complete they can finish the episodes up and air it in the summer.

*CENSORED* that writers strike to hell. JUST GIVE THEM THE 4 CENTS ALREADY. I WANT MY SHOWS BACK. Yeesh.

Arrggghhh I cant wait. How many chapters has this season? I read that the first idea were 16 but maybe has been affected by the writters strike.

I thought exactly the same, specially after reading an interview with one of producers who said that "seasons 4 and 5 will not be on the island".

Instead, they are going to tell what happens in the future via flash-forwards only. I'm a little dissapointed, a huge temporal ellipsis would have been really innovative...but hey, I'm looking forward to season 4 as a good lost addict.
