Hi,

I just bought this game and and is trying to get this thing playable. I followed a account wizard and got to a point where it said payment method. But I already paid for the game!

And I can't seem to get past that, isn't there atleast a free play period or something? Since I bought it already?

Atleast I want to check it out to see if it is worth spending more money on it than I already did.

Ouch.. That sucks.
It seems someone is a newbie to online gaming. =P

There's a monthly fee.

Edit: Oh and no.. There's no free playtime.
Unless you get a buddy key from someone but there's been some problems with that too so... yeah.

Nope, not new.. But I've never seen a game where you first have to buy the game itself, and then have to pay another fee to even be able to see what you boughtSMILEY

Thanks for the fast answer btw,

So, you've already paid the $19.99 (I think) to download it right?

I think it's asking you which payment method you wish to use once your first month (which is included when you purchase and download the game) is up.  If you pick a payment method (once a month, ever 3 months, whatever) it will start charging you after the first month is over.

Unless they've disabled the CD keys (which seems rather unlikely), that'll get you one month's free playtime. SMILEY

You might have to enter credit card details to validate your address.

Best way to check whether it has been activated yet or not is to try and login to the game, that will give you a definitative answer.

Welcome to MMORPGs. That monthly fee is for constantly updated fresh content, which you don't get with most other games.

Think of it like this:
Most games are like buying a picture of a puppy. You get that, and it's nice to look at, but it's the same thing for all of eternity. It's never anything new.
MMORPGs are like buying a puppy. You have to pay the initial fee, and then to ensure new experiences with it, you have to invest in upkeeping (food, medical fees, etc.).

Matrix Online is a cute puppy.

You will need to enter some sort of payment option.

When you buy MxO you get 30 days free play. If you cancel the account before the 30 days is up you won't be charged.

The payment option isn't billed until the 30 days are up.
