There's quite a bit of news regarding the fires here in San Diego and for the time being things are going alright. The SOE office is doing ok but due to the fires and evacuations we're very short staffed at the office, others like myself, are working from home.

We're currently seeing a nice ring of red around the sun caused by the smoke but other than that things where I'm at are good. We'll try to keep you as updated as possible.

Thanks!

I've been keeping close tabs on the situation. I have many friends and family near the affected areA.  To my knowledge it around 350,000 evacuees atm.

As well as my daughter in Malibu.  My heart goes out to everyone affected by this, and lets hope things take a turn for the better.

So far things are ok in my neck of the woods but the fires are still raging, most of which are 0% contained at this point. We'll keep you posted should anything new develop.

Man, those guys have to be working soooo hard.  Just got off the phone with sister in SD, shes cool for the moment in Oceanside. Her brother in law is flying helos dropping water from the sea.  And they are taking all of the help they can right now, even from out of state.  As for my daughter, I havent heard anything form her mom, but they are relatively close to the sea, so I imagine they are safe.

I know some of you are concerned so to give you a quick update on what the situation looks like...

That link provides some of the latest evacuated and fire affected areas. For now things are going alright but right now the weather needs to give us a little help (0-5% humidity and 30-50MPH winds westward aren't helping).

Maybe I should have worded that better seeing how my last post was deleted by some dude.

I was asking if you could take a picture of the Red ring around the sun.

Things have gotten a bit more serious as the communities to my South and East are on voluntary evacuation. I'm preempting it, packing up, and waiting on stand by for the time being.

Stay tuned...

We aired the CBS package this morning and I saw it when it was being fed down. Looks pretty nasty. Be careful out there.
