Here!

However... It must also be mentioned that The Daniel Institute cannot be expected to RP "at the drop of a hat"; faction responsibilities (especially to developing members) means that we cannot be summoned by a quick /tell and be suddenly drop everything. We also prefer to have a tangible introduction to an RP, so that a thread can be generated on the faction site and late-arriving members can play "catch-up".

I recently read on this forum that Good Guy RPers were ten-a-penny: I think the existence of this thread goes to contradict such suggestions...

In a more general form: http://data.doesntexist.com/index.htm might send you in some other directions which could help.

We used to RP a lot more then we do now. I think the changes of the story and other facts (like ppl. leaving the game) made most of the RP to go on stand by. I myself lost a bit intrerrest in the RP but do it from time to time.

The real RP died a long time ago on Syntax.

I mean no offence to anyone here but there are very few decent RP'ers left on Syntax and most of who are considered good RPers seem to have lost all inspiration to get involved as the quality has dropped.

Real RP? You may not think the role player's RP is real because not a whole lot of people participated in it? I've seen plenty of real RP from people in tabor. People such as Nicho, Mendelevius, and Freelancer.. so in my opinion there is plenty of real RP in there. We just need to start participating in it.

Well i cant comment on the RP you have mentioned as i have seen or heard nothing of it.  Im not belittling it in anyway.. im sure its wonderful.  However, what i mean is that a lot of "hardcore RPers" that were well known in the community to have been where its at have long since moved on and ive yet to see anyone fill their boots.  Compared to how RP used to be on this server in particular... the scene is dead.

=/

There are a few real role player's left..

Hardcore... I just don't see how you can get hardcore now adays with how the game is... Little is here and hard to come up with "hardcore" idea's. someone is proabably trying to fill their shoes, but is unsuccessful due to how to game is.

Like me! SMILEY

I do remember Syntax always had some RP going on. I think that recently within the last week or so there's been lots of good RP going on. For example...

-SOCA's 3 or 4 or however many storylines they have going on

-Merovero has like....3 things going on.

-E Pluribus Mendelevius is going through a crucial part of thier story.

-Tysias has something going on with one of the members of Merovero. Not sure what it's about.

-The Daniel Institute has something.

There's some other stuff I'm aware of but not really sure what's going on.

When and if the drama can subside, the RP might become interesting again. But as long as people prefer to p1$$ each other off, hold grudges, and start stupid crap, it's going to be fairly stagnant, I think.

Seconded. This is why I've all but given up on the roleplay scene. SOCA still engages in RP, but I personally am ready to call it quits on roleplay all together. Old RP is old...

Since grasping sarcasm isn't the easiest thing I'll write out a post about my thoughts on Syntax RP.

Syntax RP within the Machines is healthy, I think everyone knows this. There's a pretty solid structure to them and, even when there's differences of opinions they tend to sort themselves out.

I think everyone also realises that the Merovingian side is lacking in players in general but the ones that do stick around are pretty dedicated to both the org and maintaining a role play presence for said org.

Zion is a tricky one, it's always going to be seen as the less mature of the 3(5) orgs, but IMO there are some pretty credible players who roleplay within the Zion org on syntax. The likes of Cloudwolf, Othinn, Archduke, and several other players/factions all seem to contribute in some fashion it's just organising it around times when people aren't busy with their real life.

Without neglecting EPN, some of the most dedicated and strong roleplayers come from the EPN org on Syntax, the likes of Gami, Shixinfeng, Shinpsuedo and Gerik are but a few who I can list off as players I would say have built characters and are pretty well known for roleplaying. Perhaps they don't jack in as much as they used to? I dunno, perhaps it's all down to timing, which like I said in a previous paragraph is probably what it is. So, a bit of organisation for 'RP' involving everyone goes down a treat.
