Here's another question I should have asked years ago:

What is the purpose of setting items to preferred?

I have a set of dual smgs set as preferred, a rifle, a set of dual handguns and another single smg. All of them set on preferred. I thought that when a certain ability that requires a certain weapon (like full auto redux required dual smgs) the system would automatically switch to the preferred weapon. But it seems that the system switches to whatever weapon is needed randomly. For example, I have s set of dual smgs (50) set as prefered. While killing things and looting, I pick up another set of dual smgs (say lvl 45). Sometimes the system will use the lesser smgs for FAR rather than my preferred ones! WHY!!!?

And I don't want to recycle everything I pick up, I want to finish farming and decompile it. So this is very frustrating for me.

Also, say I am using smgs and I activate an ability that needs a rifle. The system will continue using the rifle until I tell it to switch back to smgs either by 'Submachine Guns' ability on my hotbar or double clicking the smgs I want to use in my inventory. But sometimes when I click the ability on my hotbar (Submachine Guns) it selects a random smg in my inventory rather than the preferred smg. AND THE PREFERRED SMG IS ALSO SELECTED ON MY HOTBAR FOR THE INTERLOCK TACTIC/ WEAPON! What gives?

It used to make it so that whatever was your "preferred" gun was visually equipped when you did an ability. Doesn't anymore :/

ya for abilities and you have to switch guns it just uses whichever gun is closest to the front of your inventory so if you always want it to use certain guns just set them in say page one  at the top of one of each type of gun you use and it pretty much always use those.

Fix plz?

Yea nearly sure it did work at some point but its actual use now is anyones guess as its slipped under the radar. :/

I don't think this is true. I usually keep all the guns that I use as the very first items in my invent with everything else following after, and whenever I loot a pistol or smg, it will use that when I switch style instead of the one I wanted.

*shrug* thats what used to work for me, maybe I'm wrong and it will use what ever is closest on the drop down list?
