"The Red" eh? That's a very cool name. I don't know what brand of flavour the music is, though.

I just wanted to put in for my faction mate SATRUAS, who probably never once has looked at these forums.
His theme song has been declared Y.M.C.A. by all of us Rakshas =P

The first song that springs to mind for me is Freewill by Rush, I've
always associated it with the Matrix for some reason. I even quoted it
in my in game profile. Oh and every time I hear Sleeping Awake by
P.O.D. it reminds me of MxO. And the instrumentals in Progenies of the
Great Apocolypse by Dimmu Borgier always bring up images of the Matrix
for me.

Show Me How to Live - AudioSlave

This is my personal themesong for my character, Susannah.  (Actually it's my personal Dark Tower themesong for Book 6 of the series - Song of Susannah - when the characters meet their... "creator" Stephen King).

Actually if you read the lyrics, think about the relationship between you and your character and the psychological implications of it.  "what a mindjob" indeed.

And with the early dawn
Moving right along
I couldn't buy and eyeful of sleep
And in the aching night under satellites
I was not received
Built with stolen parts
A telephone in my heart
Someone get me a priest
To put my mind to bed
This ringing in my head
Is this a cure or is this a disease

[Chorus]
Nail in my hand
From my creator
You gave me life
Now show me how to live
Nail in my hand
From my creator
You gave me life
Now show me how to live

And in the after birth
On the quiet earth
Let the stains remind you
You thought you made a man
You better think again
Before my role defines you

[Chorus]

And in our waiting hands
I will land
And roll out of my skin
And in your final hours I still stand
Ready to begin

[Chorus]

Allele - Stitches
It kicks, if you haven't heard it, you should go look for it :p
I know that you've come
To end my shame
And dig up my empty scars
Just to cut them again
Have you ever been sown shut?

I'll lay my hands down
To comfort your empty soul
It never forgets
It lies in your skin beneath your back bone

I tried to hide
I don't want to be afraid
Of letting go, of someone like you
Another life another story
How will I know?

This time I can't speak
I'll scratch on my itchy wounds
It never forgives
A bed of your broken nails to lay on

I tried to hide
I don't want to be afraid
Of letting go, of someone like you
Another life another story
How will I know?

How will I know?

I don't want to be afraid [x2]
Of someone like you
I don't want to be afraid of letting go

I like the Quartertones but when I first saw the title to this song when it came out it was not what I was expecting. hehe.

In northern Canada there is a singing game among the Inuit that is called throat singing that isn't like the throat singing by folks like Mongolians,  or the Ainu in Japan, or even the Xosa in South Africa. There are 6 or seven different kinds of Inuit "throat singing". It isn't really singing though, so to speak, but more like a vocal game since the normal voice is used as well. Along with breathing and .... oh. I'm sorry. Went all super geek there for a moment. :robotvery-happy:

Here are some quick and short examples.

and a site with a lot of explanations of the various types of Inuit "Throat singing" and other types from around the world as well as some long examples.

Cheers!

When it comes to the Matrix, i'm more a classical person, although i'm
actually more a rock/moshy type person. But usually I go for fast paced
classical, such as:

Requiem Prologue - Battle Royale :smileyvery-happy:

And

Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi  - Fortuna plango vulnera (Carmina Burana peice)

....And the Imperial March...

Actually I am continually amazed by just how many of my favourite songs could be interpreted in a Matrix kinda way.

Mostly when I play I have the Alabama 3 playing in the background and I would say a good 2 thirds of their output takes me into the Matrix when I hear it.

But I have gotten the same feeling from some very odd places too...Tom Waits, David Bowie, Z.Z.Topp, Johnny Cash...I could go on, its weird but if your looking for a connection you can usually find one :smileyhappy:

This is my personal theme for Apocryphon,  Reverend of the 1st Presleytarian Church of Elvis the Divine, MegaCity Branch.

Alabama 3

Converted.

Forty days you been, tired and tempted

Forty night you been, out in the cold

Every phoneline conversation's been intercepted

And you can't re-connect, 'cause the frequency is closed.

So many miles you been, out of direction

So manysigns but you aint, got nowhere to go

Your Cadillac's got its headlights disconnected

Rolling your wheels down the, wron side of the road.

Can you see them now

Can you see them now

Can you see the Sisters swinging?

Let's go back to Church

Let's go back to Church

So **bleep** long since we sang tha song

Let's go back to Church.

Ler's go back to Church

Let's go back to Church

Any day now, any way, any how

Let's go back to Church.

You drank the wine but, it tastes like water

You broke the bread but, it turned to stone

Your sacrament, it lay scattered on the pavement

The covenants you kept have all been, stolen, and sold.

Can you hear them now

Can you hear them now

Can you hear the Brothers singing?

(Chorus & repeats)

I will be checking out some of the tracks you all listed that I dont know, I like all kindsa music so I feel safe :smileytongue:
