There comes a time where you either take a break, or find another game to offset MxO.  With this in mind, yesterday I negotiated the Herculean install and patching of 9Dragons.

Now, to the point.  In attempting to start the game, I'm met with a download of something called 'Gameguard' which apparently prevents my 9Dragons bounty from being hacked...

...Ok...

The 'Gameguard' download takes a suitably lengthy amount of time to finish, at which point I'm told that its installation is being hindered by my firewall, and I can try to play the game without it.  Needless to say, I can't.  I try downloading again minus my firewall, to no avail, so my coffee goes out the window, and I'm due in court next week for assault on a 76 year old spinster by the name of Mavis.

Is there any way to bypass this idiocy?  I have pixels to get all chopsocky on.

Much obliged.

Edit:  Oh, and before one of you gets all /pedestal "This belongs in the technical help section.  Learn to read the forums," this is an enquiry about a different game, so technically it's in the right place.

Is the OS your on Vista or XP? If Vista its just going to be a bish. Also things like G15 Keyboards are not to be plugged in cause gameguard thinks of it as a hack. If anything if it is giving a error code if any let me know Ill send a good word to a VGM and Tech Rep for Acclaim to see what they can do.

Tho if your ever in. Look around in Nirvana for me. I'm just lazy however since the CB up to now. Also screen shots of what the error or so forth is giving you will be a + to the tech crew there. They may also ask for like two log files however. Which they will ask for

I logged onto 9D for the first time in a logng time last night and it has become a huge and total Ad-fest.  I understand it is free, but good lord there is a line >_<

Ah, the days when Ads would only appear when you entered a new area and on loading screens which would give you some gold if you watched them.

Gameguard has caused nothing but problems with 9D, people have had problems downloading them game, and there are still private servers and bots that increase the skills of their characters which they sleep.  Occasionally you see peoples levels shoot up on the 9D homepage, they are usually caught because everyone knows that XP is so hard to come by your looking at a week hard grind to gain a level there over level 60 >_<

You may be best off contacting someone on the 9D forums if you havent already, may already be a FAQ with details on that but you have proably already tried that SMILEY

Far, far too much hassle for a game.  Given up, uninstalling.  Not impressed.
