problem getting into game, can anyone help?

hi, i am new to this and have a friends who plays. i cannot get into the game, i get past the loading screen, but then all that comes up is the chat box in the bottom left corner and the rest is just a black screen. this should be loading up the traing level. everything my mate has suggested eg. update graphics card and run patch full system scan has not worked, my computer is more than capable of running this game. any ideas?
