I always assumed they had smaller fortifications or raided other hovercraft for what they needed.

Also the Cyph.  I don't think the machines would let their operatives come to 01 though, it'll be too easy for a Zionist/EPN to pose as a machinist to gain access to 01 and do damage to it.  However I don't doubt that they at least build cities similar to Zion for the machinist and Cypherite organization.

The Devil's Advocates of Recursion had set up a kind of general Merv base known as Outpost Styx; Le Prieure de Merovingien has been setting up its own homebase in what used to be Rennes-le-Chateau. I like the idea of the Mervs having de-centralised bases of operation, as opposed to one large, easier-to-target base.

I could tell you where the Masquerade is, but then I'd have to kill you.

I'm pretty sure a few of them are still using Outpost Kami, from the OB days.

I *knew* where it was. And I had fun poking your corpse!

But on topic, I'd always assume that they had several outposts.

I tend to think of Mero craft as being more like the pirate ships of the open sea's every so often they hole up in a secluded area and have a few small safe harbours rather than one central meeting area. As far as socialising and planning the average Mero probably spends a lot more time jacked in than their counterparts, luxuriating in the oppertunity presented by being a superpowered redpill SMILEY

I agree with Tytanya. Not being welcome in Zion or with the Machines, Merovingian hovercraft would usually be isolated and probably set up in remote safe areas, in small groups if congregated at all. Our ships would function and operate (as she said, and where my name comes from) much like pirate ships, stealing supplies and energy resources from both sides whenever necessary.

Although I will say that when larger assembly and planning is necessary, there would need to be areas for a larger amount of ships and operatives to congregate when not jacked into the Matrix. This idea is the same thing that created Abaddon on Syntax. We imagined a relatively small, abandoned area (much closer to the surface than Zion) that was niched in one of the ruined human megacities.  A place like that would need to be e an area that the Machines rarely, if ever scout like in Matriculated. Ships would be able to move in and out, and even possibly jack in with little to no outside disturbance.

I have always believed there's an area on the outskirts of Zero-One that is open to Machinists. A large structure for the many Machinist fleets to dock, resupply and maybe even meet up for a drink. SMILEY But I agree we'd never be allowed into the centre of Zero-One. And Cypherites won't even be allowed into the Machinist docks; the Machines may have finally admitted their responsibility for them, but they still don't trust them enough to give them the privileges that Machinists have.

As for Merovingian operatives, I agree with Tytanya and Pyraci, and reckon Cypherites and EPNoobs would follow the same pattern.

agreed

With logical explanations from an rp standpoint we have the resources of the merovingian. He was powerful enough to trap Neo's mind in a construct in revolutions, Move programs that are marked for deletion into the matrix in the form of an Exile. He can easily reprogram Machines of his choosing to aid his cause.  Even the humans could do that in the animatrix.

the meros spend more time in the matrix than out so they could have easily built hidden bases in the real while zion/machine throw rocks at each other. The use of jack-in stations for redpills that will be spending long periods of time in the matrix suit's those of the mero org.

Hovercrafts would move about just as zion's hovercrafts slipped and sneaked around before the truce. Then congregate like Pyraci stated.
I love the mero org. There is no pinpointing our positions in the real unlike 01 and Zion SMILEY. We could be anywhere....  up here.
