Complain about the new animation and storyline all you want, but I still think that the thing most lacking in MXO is fear.

The new cinematic shows Anome's crazy henchmen going crazy around the city blowing things up and killing people.  These people are supposed to be a SERIOUS threat!  Some sort of random city spawn/attacks would at least make it feel like what is happening in the cinematics and the crits are real.  some unlimits randomely targetting and attacking redpills would be cool too.  surely something like that can't be too hard to script up.

Also the splinter groups like EPN and Cyphs.  EPN spawns attacking machines and Cyph spawns attacking Zionists would be so great.  The attacks don't have to be uber frequent or anything, but enough to make their presence known and keep you a bit on your toes.

And of course Agents...You know I really don't see why as you gain levels and get stronger, the agents are less likely to attack you...shouldn't it be the other way around???

1.) Yup
2.) They do, I guess. The problem is they're just NPCs and a single person can wipe out 3 level 65s if he's careful.

I don't know if this is still happening, but they used to spawn every now and then in Ueno.  I don't know if it's still going on, but it might be worth checking out.

I'd like to see a laser-beam action used against me.:smileytongue:

I agree that the environment in the world should reflect the current storyline moreso. I like how the Ueno building spawned Niobe mobs for a period. But perhaps give players more goals in the environment.

Special documents found on the spawns, for instance.

I miss the old collecting game of items from NPC spawns. It's a fairly good way of boosting the presentation of the current storyline and is something to keep players occupied moreso.

Well we're only into the first week of the storyline for this chapter so I'm sure we'll see more to it throughout the rest of this chapter.

But I agree, fear is very needed in MxO to complete the Matrix feeling.

Fear for the win.
Seriously. I'm Level 11 and haven't yet felt remotely threatened by anything.

w00t randomized spawns while your coding!

PvP interrupted by NPCs jumping everyone out of the blue!

Private chats out in the open disturbed!

It would be like Piece of Blue Sky just worse.

Random spawns are run the first time around but soon after are just a pain in the **bleep** and annoying

Well, they're supposed to be annoying. I wouldn't think they should be helpful. After all, they are trying to kill you and make an impact.
If you're going to kill someone, i don't think you would wait until they finished coding or talking to their mate.

I can't see why everyone is/got so upset.

Coding? - do it somewhere safe. On top of a monument! Or indoors?
PvP? Well it's about fighting isn't it?
Chats in the open ... well, isn't that sort of the idea? They're there to disrupt you. Find a more secure location SMILEY

I think what would solve these issues is to have say 3 spawns ine ach district related to the current story. The spawns should include some type of static mesh that would alert players that this is an area that is part of the storyline and being there will be dangerous to you. Presto the spawns can be random they can add fear adn danger to those who want it and they can at the same time allow you to know you are in a zone or sector that has these spawns. Thanks to the community a few hours after the patch all locations will be known and posted so one doesn't accidently miss the static mesh that alerts you its an area.

random spawn`s are a bad idea, we`ve had them before and 99% of the commuity hated them
i dont mind em myself but meh , gotta go with the majority :smileysad:

Too add some fear make agents appear more freqently , i hate the way once you get to lvl 50 you never see em again SMILEY

That's obvious SMILEY
The Matrix should be threatening as a rule, not only when you throw yourself into danger.
