Right now Hurricane Rita is heading towards the Texas/Lousiana area and its not looking good. Right now the winds are up to about 166mph. On record it is the third most powerful hurricane to date.
Please let us pray that no major damage is done and everyone is safe.

Well considering we pollute the hell out of her I can't blame her for being pissed. That being said let's hope no one gets hurt.

hopefully this will wake bush up to the fact that we cannot afford to be invading other countrys for their oil right now. if a direct shot to his homeland ranch doesn't do the trick, i dunno what will. but we absolutely need to stop spending so much money on third world expeditions, and start spending more money on OUR people, and the catastrophys we've been bombarded with.

Right, The National Guard should of been there to help..but they're stuck in Iraq, and yes I know the National Guard still went in but they didn't have nearly as many as they should have.

Last year we had 3 big hurricanes here in FL, most of all those hurricanes (Rita, katrina, etc) already affected us in Miami Dade and Palm Beach.
The strengh of these phenomenons will increase gradually, blame global warming.

Considering
your post, I'm pretty sure major damage will be done, and I doubt
everyone will be safe. Lets just say God is really pissed off at
the southern portion of the US. :smileyindifferent:
But yeah, head for the hills people, Katrina was a sneeze compared to what Rita will do. :smileysad:

Not to be so apethetic
But it seems always that our nation does not do anything until the worst comes to pass.
the motto seems to be "if it aint broke, dont fix it"
Where were the earthquake structured buildings before the Northridge Quakes of California?
Where were was the Homeland Security Position before 9/11?
Where were the protocols when the President declares states of Emergency due to Hurricanes?
How long will people ignore the word Preparation?
im not saying Live in Fear by living in perpetual changes of Terrorist Level threats.
Even the Japenese have a time Dedicated to Safety and preparation for things to occur.
I do a hard labor job and i get the word Safety in my ear all day long.
Again and again.
It's our own fault these issues are left behind until the worst happens.
Sooner or later i hope we can elect officials governors senators presidents that can see eyes open that the world around us is changing (ecology and culturally).
But until that time. I hope if people do value their families and friends they will take the necessary survival instincts they have and get away from that situation.
"If our will is strong enough then nothing can fail..."

Worst of all, Bush hasn't veto'd a single spending bill since coming to power. A leader must make choices -- he can't -- so let's do a huge tax cut for his pals, Iraq, Katrina, everyone's pork all over the U.S., on and on. He went from zero debt to the largest increase in government spending in history.
We'll all end up working harder and longer hours to pay for everything -- since he can't choose.
My best to everyone down there. Be safe.
