Really? Yuck, how boring would it be to see that? I thought they were the worst levels in EtM. :smileyindifferent:

I know that creating + adding extra districts will take time, but the devs know that 4 districts aren't going to satisfy us forever.  Therefore sometime more will be added.

Interesting entry for cities; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cities  Mentions a few things that MegaCity could have.

One little side question, is downtown part of the 'core network' mentioned by Morpheus in Reloaded?

Whatever the developers' plans are, I think massive expansion of Mega City is quite necessary -- for several reasons.

So I would prefer to have one single world in the game, even if it's only a little part of the city, instead of three separated districts (Richland/Westview as one). Walking from International to Downtown and seeing how the city look changes would be much more exciting than just take the subway and see "ah, now I'm in DT, nice".

Not to forget all the historical locations that aren't in the game. OK, I have to say, I'm not really excited about how these places now look in the game (some of them are completely different from what we know from the movies), but still I'd like to see locations like Merovingian's "Le Vrai" restaurant or Seraph's teahouse in the game. I bet they are somewhere in the green part of the city. Of course, even more exciting would be to have places from ETM here. OK, the only way you can see the the power plant is watching the "maximum energy" posters, but others like the airport or the post-office would be very interesting to see in MxO.

Which leads me to the next point. I can't say everything inside of buildings looks the same, but it's still quite repetative and also a little too simple: the interior areas of Mega City roughly just consist of rooms at different floors, in large contrast to the complicated building structures of ETM. It's a little confusing, because what you see in ETM is really what you get to see in the real world; whereas the buildings in MxO really remind of the movies, because there, the clean and simple structures of the Matrix were supposed to be in contrast to the disorder and decay in the real world. I thought, it would be quite exciting, if the new districts wouldn't be just other versions and variations of the actual four, but would bring something new to the game. Like the freeway system in the north of Mega City, an industrial area with huge factories and power plants or some kind of travel district with airports (!) where planes or trains systems lead to other cities and stuff (there should be more than just one city in the Matrix, although I'm not quite sure). These areas could have much less typical apartment and office buidings and have a different structure than what we already know.

And the last one (I promise, it is!): We already saw real subway stations in the first movie and some other subway trains in the airport mission from ETM -- let alone, the sewer systems (not the worst level of ETM at all!!) -- and I think all these same-looking subway stations should be removed and replaced by a sort of underground city system. Would be pretty exciting. lol

So I think we'll just see what happens next.

sorry, I made a little mistake in my last message...

The interior levels in "Enter the Matrix" don't look like the real world in Zion or whatever, but like the real world we're living in... Exploring a real nuclear power plant or an airport would be quite similiar to what we get to see there.

What I meant by the real world which is "in contrast to the Matrix" is, of course, the real world from the movies.

My apologies SMILEY

Exellent suggestion Iced.....simply great! I wouldn't mind seeing a new fold in that direction and keep it in that on district. SMILEY Bravo my good friend!

I think a sewer system would be a nice added touch.  The various manholes around town could be enterences.  And, this would be a net way to put in the underground/exile HLs.

all those bluepills, but if u look around the existin deistricts there are only the projects (moriah projects, mannsdale housing projects) and tabor park where a large amount of poeple could 'live' and 50% of these places are mission zones so they cant really live there can they?

they should make a new district (as in like richland, downtown, international, westview) and call it 'Urban' or sumthin i dont kno. make it mostly residential. so u must be thinkin "just nuthin but houses how boringgg" well yeah u might have a point, but it would open the way for about 20 new neighborhood contacts lol and a load more nodes, hardlines, maybe even make a huge park there like bigger than all the others and a few special buildins. Hell make the park a PvP zone for non-hostile servers, and the houses safe zones for hostile server!

meh im takin us far out now, sorree SMILEY but cmon tell me why this wud be a bad idea

I'm really liking the idea of sewers.  Just like the places in Enter the Matrix where there's tunnels which expand into great underground 'caverns' used for meeting places.  Put a 'sewer gang' in there, a mission contact and a HL, and yess!!

Picture this, you walk out of a sewer pipe into a great big opening, where 3 water pipes empty their contents like waterfalls into a big plunge pool.  Just below the water, you're sure you can see something green, shimmering.  Matrix code?!  This would fit in well with the recycling theme of the Matrix.  A finishing touch would be adding a few nods to the assassin by having a few dead flies, or graffiti to show he hung out there.

Well, we can dream...

Not to forget about replacing the repetative and boring subway stations being with a subway system and making a big, complex underground system of that. But it would take ages for the Devs to create something like that. Let's hope they find the time...

No, I don't believe they represent the Constructs. I remember reading somewhere that MxO was supposed to have been released with more districts, but time constraints led them to only release the four we have now.

It will be exciting to enter these new areas of the Matrix when (and if) they become available.

In that case, that means there has probably already been a lot of work done towards these new districts, so it wouldn't take *quite* as long to get them implemented. Still bet it's a ways off, though.

OK, I'll have to correct myself. Some interior structures like warehouses or that large building in Kowloon are't primitive at all. But if you compare the windows from outside and inside you see that they don't match.

I mostly like the interior areas (some office building look partially a little boring), but they just can't stay that way forever, it takes a lot of realism from the world. I really hope this will be included into the city development at some point. Although I wouldn't mind new districts to come first SMILEY
