It appears to me that there is no control over the ingame economy.  Historically if you look through real world events if there is an unlimeted supply of currency that currency soon becomes valueless.  I believe this could eventually happen to $info in mxo.

It is far too easy to earn info here and from what ive heard the maximum is some silly amount in the billions and even then you can start sending money to an alt, a crew back or faction bank effectively meaning the maximum amount of info you can earn is almost without limit.  The reasons for this seem quite apparent.  Once you hit 50 and level all your abilities there are very few things you can actually spend info on.  Ok you can buy the org construct key at 100mil but then what?  All you end up doing is collecting info no matter what you do, eventually earning an insane amount of info and not many items to spend it on.

Perhaps there should be some kind of live economy where it makes it harder to retain info?

Any ideas?

Seems to me there just need to be more ways of using the info, theres plenty of people who have more info then they know what the hell to do with, i'd love to see maybe a way of buying your own construct or something like that- but at the same time i'd love to win the lottery and be a big celebrity so - you know what we want and what we get.... and so on.

That being said - it would be nice if there was more restrictions on the market place - ie. a time period for item to be on there, and a more reasonable charge depedning on the price for putting products up on it - i know im tired of seeing code analyzers and props for 500,000,000 and so on, i really think even the morons who put them up there aren't thinking much of them now.

Also if the market got fixed up, they could put bids in and make it a lot better (yeah clone wow, why not wow did it right.) - better still if the devs wanted to every so often stash an item on the market that wasn't so easy to get and make it like a hidden secret that would be pretty epic and help players burn through the info they have without a real use.

But whatever, theres a bunch of it would be awesome if-s so what's a reasonable request would be some more expensive content in game and for a dev to come through and clean up the market place.

Yeah, the marketplace could do with a revamp, I never use it because if my item doesn't sell, it is sent into oblivion SMILEY

Why cant the MP email you your unsold items back, then we can repost them for a better price.  Yeah 'It will be used as item storage' so what, mabey its a system like that could solve out lack of inventory too SMILEY

We do need more ways to keep our info fluxing, mabey a quest that requires an entry fee...

I like the idea of dev placing something on the MP for info, mabey they could come up with one off mission mission tickets that have NPCs that drop new clothing?

The problem with anything that drains money is that it makes it harder for newer players to get what the high price thing is. If you buy something on the marketplace, barely any in-game money is lost from the player economy, just a small fee is taken out. There's not a great way to pull this off. Even if there was something people wanted to do again and again that was high priced but not so high that it took newer people out of buying, it would still prevent the newer people from doing it as much as the older people. A $info would be best, but unfortunately would *CENSORED* a ton of people off if they did it now.

I totally agree with your point about the lower level players MotorZ.  If there ever was a way to implement some kind of control method it would have to be balanced in the correct manner.  I just fear that for the higher level players (especially 50s) that $info will truely become worthless because of a form of inflation and then trade comes in form of items .. then where does that leave lower levels?

The only people that really have to continually spend money to survive in MxO are the Gunners to replace their weaponry, even then it is not required as you can code them.

Exactly, we do need more items to buy.

My info just sits in crew banks and on alts.

I spend maybe 2-6mill a week in health pills but thats it.

I make that back in the time I'm not pvping.

And if I do get the urge to code pills it's even less.

I would love to be able to buy a safehouse ie. SWG

Well there are ways and means of making serious info if your willing to put the effort in.

Ie you could grind missions on easy / short, got data mining in certain areas for a while, farming red frags... there are loads of ways of making easy info.. not to mention using the market place or forums to sell things.

Im only level 46 and (through choice) i blew over 50 mil levelling a couple of trees not yesterday.  Wont take me long to get that back up again.

.. Id say have some kinda of drain for Faction But that would require a huge @$$ revamp to the system itself.. and may lose orgs altogether =/

Seeing as for instance EQ2. it has guild status points given by tasks know as writs. but think with MxO only reall points for status would be $info..

so much good and thought out stuff it is just not ever implemented cause of the lack to try or the stupid friggin hard head coded engine used to Run MxO..

=/
