For anyone who's watched it, what do you think?  This is probably the best TV show since Sopranos went off the air, intriguing storyline, but maybe not as tastefully done as Sopranos or Six Feet Under, but right up there.  Maybe with the actors delving more into their characters and gaining confidence with time, we'll be able to see better performances.  Most people I know who have watched an episode are getting hooked on the show.  I think the setting in the rural deep south is perfect, louisiana is known to be kind of off beat and full of mysticism.  If it took place in New York, San Francisco, or a big metropolitian city, the show just wouldn't have had that charm and would've fallen into the trappings of lame vampire cliches.

###Spoilers for those who haven't seen the finale###

So who do you think was in Andy's car?  Was it the dead body of Lafayette?  Do you think Lafayette was the one drained by Bill?  I'd hate to think they killed off Lafayette, the character was hilarious and a bright spot among all the serious faces.  Maybe Bill felt guilty afterwards, feeding on a friend of Sookie's and turned Lafayette into a vampire?  That way he can help Bill put that new whiny vampire chick in check.

And why do you think Sam is emptying his safe?  Running from Mary Ann?  Who is the lady helping Tara?  Is she a shape shifter as well?  I think she might be either a shape shifter who is a former lover or relative of Sam's or maybe a witch?

I was surprised the killer turned out to be Renae.  I didn't suspect him until seeing the fax at the end of the 11th episode, but thought the clue was too obvious, and figured he was in town hunting down the killer of his sister, taking a fake identity to find out who the killer was.

I'm a bit disappointed in seeing Jason Stackhouse becoming a born again evangelist, I thought they could have made him into a hippie or something more edgy.

If you've read the novel, please refrain from posting spoilers, thanks.

I just watched that one episode for Lizzy Caplans boobs >_>

But it did seem like a pretty decent show, just haven't had the time to catch up.

Great show, my friend and I love it. Haven't seen the season finale yet, we decided to get drunk.

I thought it was a pretty good finale.  From what I've heard from friends, the books are 10 times better (and i found out it was Renee after that 3rd episode from a friend).  One of the biggest things i didnt like was the girl getting killed last week.

As for who's in the detective's car, i think it is Loranne (Renee's girl).  It kinda sucks that we have to wait until NEXT SUMMER for new episodes though.  Oh well, It will give me a chance to get and read the books.

True Blood is a great show but I think Dexter is by far better.

I can't really get into True Blood that much...it's not my thing. I love the HBO series' though I think they're all great.

By FAR the most UNDERRATED show was The Wire. It was so realistic, gritty, and accurate that it was eery. The only problem is that for those who weren't loyal viewers, it was hard to get into, especially if you've missed an episode.

Heh, True Blood is my favorite show, keeps you thinking the whole season, I'd never expect that someone to be the killer SMILEY

IMO I think it's the best SMILEY

I was kind of disappointed with it.  I don't expect much out of the series apart from getting giggles out of vampires with a southern accent.  But we had no idea who the killer was all season and then the editing (that focus change in the jail) gave it away in five minutes.  I at least like to follow along and try to figure it out. It doesn't seem they want to let us do that.  I did find Marriane to be intersesting though.  I was hoping they'd let a witch enter the scene soon.  Although really, that's just a guess of what she is.

I know this wasn't in the finale, but I really liked when Tara ran into the witchdoctor in the pharmacy.  That was a rather golden scene.  I have a problem with the overall flow of the story but there's little tidbits here and there like that scene that are beautiful.
