The only reason I would have ever tried it was the fact that you had to work really hard to become a Jedi and I heard they pwned in combat (but bounty hunters could kill em for great rewards) and now its like this. I'll keep my money for sumthin else.

SWG will never be what it once was. Never will there be as many subscriptions as before due to broken promises, broken hearts, and a broken community.

Needless to say I just paid 20$ for the matrix game to reply to this... Odd eh?

However, I'm open to gameplay... But SoE killed SWG. I hope to salvage my Station Access subscription if this game is decent since I'm a big fan of EQ2 and sorta into PlanetSide.

I have been playing SWG for the last two years (i left their to come here)....if your a shallow 10 year old gamer, or a person who likes "really easy" games...buy swg, otherwise its a waste of your time.

It has 0% content, 0% storyline, go to amazon.com and read the reviews

SWG was the place to be back in 2003- late 2005, the professions were great, the equipment was great, food was useful, and helish loada great ppl played it. The out of the blue some post saying about the NGE was going to come forth got put forward.

If you are a child who cant play mmos and like first person shooters, SWG is the place for you.

OMG is this *CENSORED* talking about the right game

You can not do anything untill you hit the level cap, you HAVE to be Master (If your a crafter or fighter, you need to be a Master of that Profession if you want to suceed).

That means that you have to get to Lvl 80 as soon as possible. However there is NO CONTENT in SWG, this means that getting to Level 80 is just one long grind! All you can do is kill Bols for a few weeks straight till you reach Master.

When you  do you find that there is no content in the game. Except for becoming Jedi. So you finally decided to go be Jedi. Thus sevral more months of killing Bols till you unlock Jedi, then more months of killing Bol's till you level it.

Once you become Master Jedi? Oh thats right there is still NO CONTENT! This means that all you can do is PvP. Guess what? PvP and the Galactic civil war is totaly pointless! Be Rebel or Imperial it makes no diffrence. You go kill players of the other faction, there is no reward for it, nothing is achived by it, cept for the fact that your armour is decayed a little more.

Yeah you can attack player placed bases, guess what! Still doesn't chage a freaking thing!

Crafters are just about pointless because everyone else is Jedi and Jedi do not need armour or weapons as they have there own. Maybe if your a Chef you can make money, as Jedi need food but that about it.

The class system is totaly screwed up and it is ALL about fighting an nothing else. Most classes do not have any abilites which can be used outside of combat. And everyone is a Fighter/Healer if you are anything other than that you have no chance in combat, it is totaly unbalanced.

Jump to Lightspeed is just a pile of $%^& too, nothing to do in that at all.

Do not waste your time with SWG, compared to SWG MxO has an amazing amount of content. I am so glad I stoped play SWG and switched to MxO there is so much more to do and it is a lot more fun.

If you did not find you got on in swg then it was because you wernt good enough to play. . .

Half the **bleep** you just said is wrong during the cu i was lvl 71 and i was able to fight and kill or escape against 2-3 jedi all lat once, i wasnt a master of any proffesion either . . .

Indeed mate.

Piece  . . .  of  . . . crap.

The only people I know that get into that game any more are kids.  Used to be the place for mature gamers.  Had such an immersive universe feel to it.  You truly felt as if you were in the Star Wars Universe.  At that time, it was an MMO - R - P - G.

That was before the dark times.

Before the Great Galactic Nurf War.

Amen to that.

SWG isn't that bad. Alot better than WoW if you ask me. At least it doesn't look like a Saturday morning cartoon.:smileyindifferent:
And despite all the naysayers.....there's still tons upon tons of players, old and new in that game. Still have the same amount of servers they did at launch.

I have to respoectfully disagree with the above post. I left in November right after the NGE went live. I admit to being a supporter, and a regular player of the CU. I went back for literally a day in Febuary, to find the server (Euro-Chimaera) quite dead, and mind you this was a very populated server beforehand. I searched every city, only to find life in Bestine on Tatooine, and they were mostly new players, and a few vets sitting around waiting for pvp. My guild chat was dead, and there was a day when we were very formidable (in both pvp, politics, and player helping).

I am going to save my rants about the NGE. Everyone knows what our opinions are...but the populations are down, I dont know about subs, but the populations themselves are nowhere near where they once were...

Ok, this was back in april... any new changes?  I was tempted to reopen my account.  Should I?  Have they improved the NGE any?

We have lost alot of players.  Combat is alot slower, more like the pre-CU era, but its a bit harder. NPC do more damage, and they have more ham. Medics and Jedi have been nerfed. Melee weapons do more damage than the best OR lightsaber. Medics have less healing power.

The devs have a new targeting system that dosnt work. They say we have to push Y to do something and Z to do something else, but it dosnt work. They gave us 1 day to test the entire patch and nothing really works.

Some day we will be getting a new GCW event in Restuss. The hole city is empty, and important items from the city, like shuttles, starport, and quest NPC have been relocated just outside the city. We will be getting new quests and loot, like new hilts and Mandolorian Armour.

Im not sure how I like the new patch. Im extremely bored ingame now. I cant do much since everyone is offline. Then again, I dont think I would do much if we were in a different system. SOE needs to do alot more if they want to have people continue to play the game.

"Chapter 1: The Corellian Captives" Publish Notes, June 8th - Part 1

Please note that any chapter notes that are
highlighted in green are changes made to the game based on community
requests and feedback.

Armor

  • Mandalorian armor will now un-equip if your character does
not meet the requirements to equip the armor (Mandalorian Armor is
restricted to Master Bounty Hunters and Master Commandos).

Bazaar/Vendor

  • Liquid Petrochemical resources should now appear under the Energy category when searching for this item.

Combat

  • Kneeling and Prone positions may be
used in combat by using either an ability button (the buttons can be
found in your command browser by pressing ";") or the slash commands
    (/kneel, /prone).

  • The Action costs for all special abilities have been changed for all professions.

  • The total amount of healing potential for all Healing special abilities has been changed for all professions.

  • Weapons with 75 meter ranges will now have a range of 64 meters.

those detonated by a single player/creature.  This legacy bonus has
been removed.  This will affect all traps available from Faction
    recruiters.

  • It should no longer be possible, intentionally or
unintentionally, to attack a target that is behind a non-combat target,
such as a quest object or floor instrument.

  • NPC and Creature movement in melee combat has been substantially decreased.

Experience Points

  • An Experience Point (XP) bonus has been added for players who are grouped together.

You can assign structures to
the droid's list by: 1. Selecting “Assign Droid” from the Structure
Management option on the structure's maintenance terminal.

2. Selecting “Edit Maintenance List” on the droid's Structure Maintenance radial menu.

  • Droids: Power indicators will now show the correct power level for the droid.

  • Droids: Bomb droids have had their damage potential increased.

  • Droids: Droids that are destroyed in
combat will automatically be stored in your datapad (you will receive a
message when this happens).  Pets cannot be called during combat, but
when combat ends you will be able to summon your pet or droid normally.

  • Pets: All pets will be stored in the owner's datapad if the owner respec's their profession.

Player Event Perks

  • The conversation text for the promoter will no longer have
an option for NPC actors. NPCs actors are not available so the
    description has been removed.

Profession: Bounty Hunter

  • Bounty Hunter armor schematics will drop as loot from NPCs on bounty missions.

  • Arakyd Probots can now be easily activated by clicking them once with the mouse instead of using a radial menu command.

  • The Mancatcher Special Abilities will now do slightly less damage.

Profession: Entertainer

the world such as the Nalargon or Omni Box can now be played by making
them your "Intended Target". To do this, target the instrument with the
    green brackets.

  • Entertainers should be able to properly use droids equipped with entertainer playback modules.

  • Entertainers should now be able to use microphone schematics.

Profession: Jedi

  • The special ability "Saber Block" has been reduced a small amount.

  • The first generation Lightsaber is a profession reward for
Combat Level 30.  The required combat level for this weapon is now
correctly listed as Combat Level 30 in its description.

Jedi would un-equip their Jedi robes and all protection values would be
set to zero, even if other items that gave protection bonuses were
    still being worn.

Profession: Officer

  • When a Heavy Weapon is equipped, the special ability
"Deadeye Shot" now uses an icon to let you know that the action cannot
    be used with Heavy Weapons.

  • While wielding a melee weapon, the special ability "White
Phosphorous Grenade" can now be used at its correct range (30m) instead
of using the melee weapon's range.

  • The special abilities, Phosphorous Grenade (30m), Artillery
Strike (30m), Aerial Bombardment (30m), and Orbital Strike (45m) will
    now use their correct ranges.

Strike, Aerial Bombardment, and Orbital Strike should not incorrectly
    display "Out of Range" messages.

  • While wielding a melee weapon, the special ability "Flash
Bang" can now be used at its correct range (35m) instead of using the
    melee weapon's range.

  • A Spy's Neutralize device now has a 20m range, regardless of what type of weapon they might be holding.

Profession: Trader

  • Vendors can no longer wear backpacks that have items inside
the backpacks. Vendors can still wear backpacks as long as the backpack
you equip on the vendor is empty (This is to help prevent players from
accidentally losing all of the items in the container (backpacks,
    bandoliers, etc).

User Interface

For tips on how to use the new combat targeting controls, click here.

For tips on how to use the non-combat targeting controls, click here.

  • Look-At Target (Blue Brackets): The set of blue targeting brackets you are used to in combat is called your "Look-At" target.

  • Intended Target (Green Brackets): You will notice a set of green targeting brackets when you log in. Any NPC, creature, player, etc. in these green brackets is your Intended Target. You can use the Z
key to switch your Intended Targets at any time. The green brackets
will cycle through all available targets from right to left.

  • Weapon Safety Mode: Weapon Safety Mode
prevents you from attacking an unintended target. You can toggle your
Weapon Safety Mode on and off by pressing "Y".

    While your Weapon Safety Mode
is turned on, you will see a different combat cursor and when you
attack an enemy, your attacks will only affect your Intended Target
(Your Intended Target is the target in green brackets).

  • Weapon Safety Cursor: While your Weapon
Safety Mode is turned ON, you will see a different combat cursor and
when you attack an enemy, your attacks will only affect your Intended
Target UNLESS it is an AOE/heavy weapon.

  • Character Attribute Tooltips: The
character interface screen now has advanced tool tips that provide more
accurate and thorough information regarding your character's individual
    attributes.

  • Emotes will prefer your Intended Target.

  • The slash command /target now sets your intended target as well as your look-at target.

  • Heals that heal players over a period of time will now display a buff icon.

  • Offense, Defense, and Damage statistics have been removed
from the character sheet since the value for these attributes are now
    determined by weapon statistics.

  • Added waypoint markers for doors to help guide players to hard-to-find entrances.

  • Added helpful new tooltips that explain Character Attributes on the Character Sheet (You can open this by pressing "C").

  • The Bounty Icon should no longer appear on spawned creatures.

  • Cryoban grenades, Thermal Detonators and Proton grenade
descriptions have been updated to reflect the correct information in
    the examine window.

  • Fixed an issue that enabled players to bring vehicles into the Etyyy Hunting Grounds.

World

  • Fixed many instances where players would see a "glassy" or "checkerboard" effect on the terrain.

  • It has been reported that the mighty Sarlacc's poison has become more lethal.

  • Lairs no longer spawn baby creatures.

  • Several major cities throughout the galaxy now have a
piloting expert NPC that will help beginner pilots find pilot
trainers.   They can be found in: Mos Eisley at the Mayor's house and
the starport, the Bestine starport, Mos Espa's starport, the Hangar in
Theed, Kadarra's starport and the Coronet starport.

I like the new patch, it is more like you are accomplishing something when you do a mission and you don't jast plast everthing untill the end.

But mostly i'm waiting for the Bases to came back un in chapter 2 patch

It is fun to travel and do missions and get into the Star Wars universe but i'm sure the battle fields and Faction Bases are what the big thing is about and that will give the game a togetherness feel it needs.

Still the last two Months I've been playing it has gotten better each week, like it is a whole new game starting up and adding it's normal new stuff to comlete the game like most MMO's do

So since I'm neew to it I'm fine with it and am glad it is one of the games I can play on the Station Access plan SMILEY
