Just to clear things up:

That was the Morpheus sim, the one created by the General, though its now off doing its own thing. The Machines also made one, but it didn't work properly so they deleted it.

I actually really really liked this cinematic. It's made the intrudur more interesting for me.

I really liked this one, although I woulda rather had this meeting in a character-only live event instead of a cinematic because more could have been said. I dunno why the pics are so pixelated all the time, I'd think they could get better shots. The drawings were great this time, didn't love the Intruder's voice but it goes with his body. Architect sounded simply phenomenal again, and I'm pretty sure the lack of talk from the Morpheus sim was due to limitations on what Fishburne gave originally.

I'm surprised you all thought the Intruder meant Neo...I was 99% sure he meant the real Morpheus. He mocked the fact that the sim was just memories, and then said he wanted the real man. Either way, it's still interesting. He obviously doesn't believe one or the other is dead. Has he seen Neo's RSI yet?

Huh, I just realised... Was that really Laurence Fishburne's voice? If it is, did they get him back for this, did they already have his voice clips ready for this from years back, or have they re-used something?

If it's not him, they did a damned good job.
Those clips have been in dialog.pkb... or was it dialog1.pkb for years.

Here's the thing about it.... Morpheus's RSI existed for quite some time, albeit corrupted, inside Mara Church, after the Assassin shot him.  I remember it... the body would lie there, turn into a swarm of flies, then back again.  I think I still have screenies of it.  Creepy.

Or maybe that wasn't Morpheus's RSI, just a copy created for effect.  I don't remember all the details.

Point is if that the Intruder was looking for Morpheus's RSI, the first place he would look is either where Morpheus was shot or in Mara.  I don't believe we've seen him anywhere near those areas yet.

As far as Neo is concerned... Heart O' The City is where Neo really became The One and killed Agent Smith for the first time.  (And several times before that in the cycle the Architect so fondly referred to in Reloaded.)  Those of us who have been around for a long time remember collecting RSI Frags for a live event (I think it was way back in Chapter 1 or 2); the Intruder may be after those too.

Who knows.  I don't.

Yipes... I suspect the Intruder is looking for Neo/the One, but why...?

Yeah, that's exactly what I thought.  I mean, that first part describes the Morpheus sim.  I don't know where Neo is coming from all of this.

Ok, how did Neo get involved in this?  I thought he was after the real Morpheus.

I remember that too, I also remember getting yelled at by Rage (from the KON) that I was there (well as a Merv I guess he saw me as partially responsible).

As far as the Intruder goes, maybe he went to the Morpheus program as a means of getting information to there whereabouts of Neo's RSI? If you noticed in the cinematic the Intruder was at once derisive of Morpheus first comment about his path leading to failure, then he told the Architect that Morpheus was just a program with the fragmented memories of a man. Afterwards he labeled it as "pathetic".

What I'm thinking is the Intruder is indeed searching for the One and is looking for a clue, any clue to find him. If that means finding Morpheus as well for answers then the Intruder will do that as well.

"This path leads only to defeat for you."
"Psuph!"
"A program cobbled together from memories of a man? Pathetic!"
"Yes, the feeble effort of an amateur. Not at all like you."
"*CENSORED* you. If I thought that was a joke, I'd have you deleted!"

Line by line analysis.

The Intruder is trying to do something to this Matrix, and the sim can feel it, or has been told of it.

The Intruder is obviously an arrogant jerk who can't control his temper, like some we know.

This is self explanatory. He obviously has contempt for the program.

Maybe the Intruder created the machine's version of the sim?

The Intruder can probably pull a Skinner-Assassin trick on the Architect and any other program, which makes me think... could he be Skinner or the come back of The Assassin?

Okay, because I'm annoyed by people predicting things that have at least been said (things can always change) in a mission to not be true:

the Intruder is a FREE-BORN HUMAN. He's not a program. Agent Gray was the one who said this. He could always be lying, but at this point this is what we know.

I've heard this idea before and I must admit it's one of the more interesting theories.

But how does a freeborn access the matrix? if they're not a pod-person they won't have headplugs or anything.

If the Intruder is indeed the Mystery Man in the Cinematics, then it wouldn't be really hard, because the Mystery man has control over machines in The Real.

Oh please, they lied about re-insertion. Why should I care what Gray says unless it's proven fact? (I haven't done a critical since Anome =P)

What kind of hardware does a free born use to jack in?  Who would design such a rig?
What king of software does a free born use to jack in?  Who would write such code?
What experts have gone missing recently and who Awakened them; why and for what?
