Xbox 360

Advantages:

Amazing Online Game play - No doubt the 360 owns the PS3 with its live feature although it is at a cost.
An Awesome Selection of Games - Saints Row, Halo, Gears of war Etc..
The Newer Models come with a HDMI connection. (the up to date connection for the HD generation of devices)
The Interface, The ability to access a lot of Xbox "Dashboard" features from in game, this for me was my favourite thing about the console it allows you to go turn on the media player on the system which allows you to listen to any music that is saved on your hard drive in game.

Disadvantages:

In order to get the HD movie experience from it you must purchase an optional external HD-DVD Drive.
The Dreaded 3 Rings of death which has happened to a lot of gamers including myself, Although Microsoft now cover the console for up to 3 years, meaning that if you do happen to get this problem yu can send your console away and the will fix it for you..
Online Fee's - You have to pay extra to play games online..

Playstation 3

Advantages:

Motion Sensitive joypad. i hated it at first but i really got into playing WarHawk with it..
Built in BluRay Player, you dont need to fork out extra money for a HD Movie player/AD-on, although i have not watched a BluRay Movie yet so i can not really give my opinion on this.
WarHawk - Nuff Said
Free Online Game play - there are no fee's to play online.
You can Change the hard drive to a 250 GB one - Awesome if you like to stuff loads of movies and music onto the PS3

Disadvantages:

The in Game interface is not great compared to the 360, although there are rumors floating about saying that a XMB style in game interface is in the works...
The game list is currently small although as of late there are some pretty good titles coming out along with an awesome catalog of games to come out before the end of the year... (WarHawk, Heavenly Sword, MotoStorm ETC)
Lack of DUAL SHOCK - Although it is being reintroduced early next year in Europe, and in the next few months in Japan. I Cant wait to play MotorStorm with it ...

Another Debatable point is the Old HD-DVD VS BluRay. Depending on which one wins the war, it will decide on what format we will be using in the next few years to come..

- I refuse to buy a system that is named after a bodily fluid. Furthermore, if I wanted to flail while I play games I'll go outside and throw a frisbee to my dog.

- Blu-Ray was most convincing at first, as they had the most publishing companies signed on from the start. However, it's kinda' become a cold war. The advantage Blu-Ray has is there's more recorders available at better prices, although those better prices are still quite expensive.

- Metal Gear Solid 4 ftw, anyone?

- The Master Chief is a pedo. Stop playing Xbox.

the reasons why i wanted a ps3

ps3
blu ray player the blu ray player is curently the leading hd format its out selling hd dvd at the moment on a 2 -1 ratio and all games are made on here wich means you can hold up to 50 gig of info on one disc i read some where the audio alone for heavenly sword is about 10 gigs.

free online play nothing to pay and with ps3's home coming out with a take on second life this will be used for people on the psn to meet other people share media photos and start any online game directly from home.

big name games coming out MGS 4 Final fantasy XIII and XIII versues Haze Killzone2 Devil may Cry 4 and the next big Rockstar game will be a ps3 exclusive and quake III and GTA IV Little Big Plannet

Xbox Live = MUCH WIN.

PS3 Online = Fail.

Halo 3 = GODLIKE.

I agree with that. i was reading in a blog some where that the sales of the 360 and the sales of the PS3 followed an almost exact line, they sold 1st to the hardcore fan, and then once the price started to drop a bit the sales began to rise bit more to the general gamers... the PS3 is finally starting to kick off with a few awesome upcoming titles and a lot more to come in the new year... All i can say is i cant wait.. if they get a neater Style in game UI i would be in heaven, untill then the 360 owns it on that..

Hell yeah MGS4! Especially the online mode coming with it..

PS3 Also pwnz because it has Assassin's Creed, Resistance Online, And GTA4, and Fight Night Round 3 destroys Xbox 360s'
